Hi friends, it is Dr. Athena Brasfield here and I wanted to answer one of these very popular questions about How to pick the perfect pair of glasses! What kind of glasses would look the best for you? I hear my staff answer this question all day every day and wanted to do this video.
Top 3 myths of choosing eyewear:
‍Myth #1: "To choose a frame, you must understand your face shape."
Truth: The internet and lifestyle magazines are littered with these unhelpful guidelines. The truth is, nobody actually looks like the options given -- it's much more likely that you're a combination of two or three of the options.
Myth #2: One size fits all.
Truth: Couldn't be more wrong! In the eyewear industry, all stock eyeglasses and sunglasses are mass produced in batches of 5,000 or more, all sized to fit just one mythical, "average" person.
Myth #3: Glasses are just uncomfortable, so deal with it.
Truth: Glasses can be comfortable, and we have the customers to prove it! The reason your glasses are uncomfortable is simple: they don't fit you. This is also why glasses slide down our noses, pinch us, give us headaches or blurred vision, touch our eyelashes… The list of issues goes on and on.
Did you know that people pick out glasses on average every three years? It is very important to get the perfect frame for you facial structure.
