My van build begins this summer. I agree with all you said "YES" to. I am a cook lover too must have gas stove!! I will have a single electric just in case not built in. I also will have an oven. There are a few layouts I changed up that I haven't seen. I want all the creature comforts as I am an older solo female and have some unique thing going in my build. Happijac saves the day for having it all! So many things...maybe we will get in touch when I am on the road??

I vote for a color that goes with neutral. I don't know how that would work or what exactly I mean but as my partner and I chose things that we want to be in a build are a little different so it makes it hard.I find neutral all the way and add colors with art, blankets,or pillows,.For the bathroom maybe a color that is added somewhere in it that will match the colors you choose to go in the neutral living, sleeping area so it's all tied in.Just a thought.❤

My vote goes for colourful :) Also you mentioned in the video about wanting a work space in addition to the bed. I just watched a video from Travel Beans and they had a rental van with a bed that came down from the ceiling. So during the day it was a siting area and at night the chairs fold down and the bed can be dropped. Just a suggestion, good luck on the build.

Excited to see you get started! I think having a more neutral background color palette and then adding color in accessories is the way to go. I don’t think beige is boring as a background color but a warm soothing background with the excitement coming from the other elements. Also changing out the “added attractions” is easier and more affordable and you have greater flexibility. Rooting for you and I’m sure what you choose will be beautiful! ❤

I'm in the dream layout phase and leaning towards a Ford Transit Connect. I won't be living in it full-time and that model seems more budget friendly. Who knows maybe I'll have more money fall in my lap and then I could get a bigger van. Good luck on your build.

Also if your looking for better energy usage for time I'd say a 50cc motor and a 250amp alternator with a 3000watt inverter would last you long time and are very reliable under different temps

It's sometimes not easy to make a layout for a van it is not neatly rectangular I have been working on a GMC Vandura for 3 years the engine and bodywork is now ready now the inside Have FUN and be SAFE

Have you locked in the shower design? A fellow van lifer has one that sinks into the floor and hangs from hooks. I can find it for you if you'd like
