This was very useful. I bought several packs and planted in early spring. However, we have unseasonably warm weather this week so I hope it doesn’t adversely affect it. It is now May and no blooms yet just greens. At least now I know the dried out corms are normal. I have mine in self watering containers so I only need to water a few times monthly. I didn’t know I should save corms to plant in October, but now I know. I like the drawer you are labeling and saving all the corms and seeds in. This is a good idea too.

Great video! Two questions 1. Can you replant the spring corm that flowered in the fall or do you need to do different corms in the fall and wait a year to replant the spring ones. 2. How do these propagate? Only by seed? Or do the corms grow new baby corms?
@GrowingInTheGarden2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can replant them in the fall and I've heard you can also grow from seed. The plants do form new corms each season as the plants die back.

I recently heard that in southern climates we can leave them in the soil but in your video you’re saying that you dig yours up, but your title states hot climates. What is your growing zone? I’m terribly excited to plant this Fall, but if I don’t need to remove them then I need to be more strategic with them when planting in my front gardens. Thanks for the vid.

Hi Angela! I just got mine in the ground and I'm wondering about watering. You say give them a good water and then don't water again until sprouts show, does that mean it's ok if the soil dries up in between planting and sprouting? Or should we keep soil moist but not drenched?
