Best compost video I’ve seen can I use clean pet bedding wood chips for the brown material

I like the idea, but I'd have to put some type of heavy cover on it. The wild animals here dig holes as is. This would draw the rats out of the woods, possibly the foxes and racoons too.

Do these require sunlight?

Yes, most flowers need at least 6 hours to grow well.

Wooden would be better, plastic free gardening is the best. You dont contaminate your soil or worm or any SOM with microplastic and toxic plastic additives.

Can you do an update on how your roses are doing n?
@GrowingInTheGarden9 сағат бұрын
Yes, good idea. They all survived the summer. Getting a few blooms this fall.
@annann-fn2zi6 сағат бұрын
@ thanks much . I look forward to your video. I specifically want to know how much growth they had since you planted. I planted quite a few this summer and maybe I’m lacking the patience but they haven’t grow much at all in the past 6 months. I’ve seen reviews of bareroot roses growing robust just in a couple of months. I understand own root roses are better but I’m almost regretting not going with bareroot roses.

The slugs get the plants before they have a chance to grow here... only one survivor. Are they self compatible or do I need multiple plants?

You are so amazing! Thank you for all the time and hard work you put into all that you do! I have learned so much from your videos and even a few seminars I have seen on video. I live in Las Vegas NV Zone 9. I almost gave up on my dream of turning my backyard and eventually my front yard into a beautiful food forest. You have educated me and re-fired my drive! Thank you so very much!

Love all your videos. How long do you spend in your garage each day?
@GrowingInTheGarden2 күн бұрын
Depends on the time of year. Now that it's cooler things are slowing down. Transition times are definitely busier. I try to spend time each morning and usually longer (several hours or all day if I'm lucky ) on Saturday

Wonderful gift ideas! I have gifted some of these, I use dried chocolate peppermint for tea each year to give to some friends and family. I have made soaps in years past, but learned that it takes longer than a few weeks to cure when you make cold process and even hot process soaps. I’ve made jalapeño peach jam, smoked tomato pepper jam (oh man that is good stuff!), rosemary wreaths (I have a 60 ft long hedge of rosemary so plenty of trimmings), lavender honey, and and dried,powdered green onion for gifts. Thats fun. I bought Roselle seed this summer so I look forward to when I can grow and give Roselle next year! Thank you for all the many great Christmas gift ideas.

These are all great garden gifts to give for Christmas and any occasion 😊 The gifts I have given from my garden this year are baskets of tomatoes, all kinds of seeds packs, starter plants of all kinds, dried herb seasonings, roselle, mint and lemon balm teas, seasoned olive oil dip, pesto, starter fruit trees, bananas, dried fruit bags with cinnamon sticks. I am learning how to dehydrate more from my garden to give as gifts. 😊

A fun Video with great ideas. Received from a friend a ‘Bay Leaf wreath’ by running a threaded needle through one end of each leaf, gather to a circle & tie. Hung it in my kitchen as it’s a medicinal herb & use it in as many dishes as possible. It’s so costly in the store. Love your web site too! ✨💖✨

Great stuff as always. How long and how often are you running the grid watering system? I'm in Phoenix with the same soil mix and garden grid. I might have a bit more mulch on top. I'm currently running 4 minutes every other day but it seems I could go every three days.
