I love sage, it was one of the very first plants I had any luck with growing from seed. That very same plant is still going strong in a container! Besides its uses in cooking, fresh sage also makes a very soothing tea with some honey.

Where do you get an actual potato that will sprout and grow more potatoes, or a slip, 8 to 12 weeks before?
@GrowingInTheGarden21 сағат бұрын
Get an organic one from the grocery store or farmer's market. Or use one you grew last year.

Hi, I got a rosemary bush as my Christmas tree for 2024, and the inside of the bush is dry and brown, but the outside is very green. Is this just the plant pushing new growth? Or is this a watering issue? The soil is usually bone dry when I water it so I don’t think I’m over watering, but I do try to be aware of the moisture level with a meter so it’s not without water for too long. If you have any questions about this plant I’d be happy to respond as soon as I see a reply, I just want the plant to last to try and use it again next Christmas. Thanks!
@deadoro098Күн бұрын
I’m considering repotting incase there’s issues with the roots or if the soil is too dense (I purchased this plant from Home Depot) and was going to cut it back in the summer so that it retained its rounded cone shape… I’m just nervous that it’s already dying and I don’t know if I can fix it without just propagating what is still thriving
@GrowingInTheGarden21 сағат бұрын
I would make sure the container is large enough - repotting may not be a bad idea. Unless you have grow lights inside I would have it growing outside too.
@deadoro09818 сағат бұрын
@@GrowingInTheGarden thank you so much for getting back to me! I do not have grow lights, but I do keep it directly next to the brightest window while it’s at or below freezing here. Once we start having more consistently good weather I will be putting it outside. I’ll try repotting it in the meantime then. I appreciate your advice!

I have one here in Columbia South Carolina in the backyard! Lol. We've had periods of heavy rain occasionally, but mostly hot and drier here than most of the Southeast. And the sandy soil here drains quickly. I actually planted 13 seeds from a fruit I got at the grocery store. Lol. Only one lived no matter my care. Last year, after 8 years of growth, it finally had flowers. Beautiful handsome flowers, blood red. I mean the photo of this flower I took looks like it was faked and intense color filled in later. Darker than any red rose. No fruit yet. The parent fruit was red and dark like a Merlot wine. I do recall that. Average sandy soil in an area called the Sandhills. Plenty of sunshine and I pruned lower limbs. So I'm indeed wondering what I can do to help it set fruit. So, my understanding here from you is that it can "self set" fruit, as can many plants, but that perhaps another pomegranate tree can "move things along" with cross-pollination? It's a handsome tree, but just few flowers. More fool me, I didn't know they had really gnarly thorns.
@GrowingInTheGarden2 күн бұрын
As the tree gets older it will set more fruit. Another tree often helps with pollination as well.

@GrowingInTheGarden Thank you. I'm in the high desert and zone 9. I believe you're zone 10. So I can plant mine more like March correct? Am I one month behind you for planting? So when you put your February out that would be what I would prepare to plant in March correct? I love to watch your videos I have just not been able to Plant the same as you and I'm trying to figure out exactly how I could do it. Your videos helped me very much last year in putting in sprinkler system, thank you. Blessings
