Two more tips/explanations 1. Dr. Strange’s anti heal only kicks in after you have 100 dark magic for a few seconds. After you get anti healed, the dark magic will slowly go down until it hits 0 during which you can’t build up any more dark magic. Avoid this situation as much as possible since a few seconds of anti heal can be pretty deadly. 2. Dr. Strange can one shot characters in his ultimate by charging his dark magic to 100 or near 100 and then using his E to hit both the body and the soul of the people stunned in the ultimate. This will one shot most squishies and is generally what you want to aim to do when you use the ultimate if you think they have a defensive ult like Luna snow, mantis, or c&d ult since one shots cannot be healed through.

Nah the ult splits the the player into two separate bodies like Hawkeyes ult. Youre not doing 50 on body 50 on soul, you're doing 100 percent dmg on body and 100 percent dmg on soul. You saw how his stacked blast does 70 percent of Lunas health. Well now it does 140 percent of it

More than double. There's a damage multiplier (of 1.6x I think I read, can't confirm) on the souls. So if you're going to primary fire, aim for those.

This is sick. I started using these techniques and I immediately improved. I don’t think it’s mentioned here, but Doctor strange can actually cancel the last fourth-ish of his reload animation but putting up shield. When you see your ammo go to 8/8, pop your right click/L2 and you’ll have a full magazine and your team defended. Hope this helps

another way if youre too focused looking at the centre of your screen is that his animation you can hear a clap when he puts his hands together and that is actually when it refills even tho the clap is 3/4 into his reload timer like you said

The dark magic is a big part of the game plan, weaving the melees means that you're getting an extra 10 dark magic every primary fire guaranteed, charging it almost twice as fast depending on your accuracy. With the hulk team up, I've gotten kills on supports while they were in mantis/Luna ult if you just do a well timed primary+melee+100 dark magic.

Even more tips You can use the levitate to escape melee or choke points to give your heals a couple seconds to save you if you're getting dangerously low. You can cancel his reload animation at about 75% of the progress bar (shown on your cross hairs) with a melee or a shield. This is specifically for maps/points with only two exits from a spawn location. You can use the portal to wall off players; keeping those who just respawned from joining the fight or contesting the point for about 20 seconds by placing the portal in front of both exits. If you have a strong Hela/Hawkeye/Punisher you can act as a personal shield for them to allow them to dps more safely, often giving them a huge advantage in a fight. This is particularly good with The Punisher when he's holding a choke point with his turret or he's taking an aggressive angle for his ultimate.

Great tips. As a Doctor Strange main, I co-sign on all of the advice you gave in this video. People in the comments have already elaborated a bit on the Anti-Heal and how/when it kicks in. To expand further, one of the less known effects of his team up with hulk is that when teamed up, max dark magic will no longer apply anti-heal. This takes away the draw back of being at 100% dark magic accumulation, allowing you to be a lot more risky in combat. In addition, while teamed up the radius of his maelstrom of madness increases from 8 meters to 10, and his damage output per point of dark magic goes from 1.3 to 1.5 meaning when detonating at max dark magic it hits for 150 HP. If you hold your ultimate until you have max dark magic, you can Ult then immediately detonate your maelstrom which will hit your enemies for 150 DMG and also hit the green soul behind them for 150 DMG, for a total of 300 HP which effectively one shots any player in a 10 meter radius that isn't a vanguard. (Also cloak, cause I made it to the end of the video.)

Good stuff man as a dr strange main this helps alot, it feel like the aoe dark magic expell seems to not be as strong as it seems depending when i play but ill keep it mind. Also shielding the hela ult if you fly right to her face is hilarious if you ever get a chance to do so. another one placing portals can give a huge advantage i like to place one above and behind the enemies and have a buddy play punisher with his turret down by the time they find the portal its almost too late. I'm surprised the shield/shoot/shield/shoot strat works so well against Hela and Hawkeye, but Strange's shield does come back up pretty dang quick. Back in OW, I used to play Reinhardt and do this exact same thing, but you had to watch out for Hanzo and Widow because allies would assume they were safe and shielded and just get picked. You've got me excited to try out Dr Strange some more though! Thanks for the excellent, concise and smart guide!

The anti heal takes a second to actually give you the debuff it’s like one or 2 seconds probably why you don’t notice but I’ve been noticing because I use my e and build my darkness back up so fast I can’t use my e before it hits 100 because it’s on cool down

Something i noticed on reload. You just need to wait about 60% of the reload timer or until you see the yellow flash and arms come together. you can't shoot but you can block/melee/aoe/levitate about a second sooner. Though I would assume the melee aoe and block would be the best option.
