Keep going! And if you haven't, I'd really recommend finding a great teacher who can feed back to you on your technique, practice method etc. Other than that, yes it's just time and effort, good luck man!

A big issue I have now, and realise I’ve always had, is that my drum teacher taught me heel down from day one. I was taught heel down and bury the beater (hold it against the drum). I feel like my muscle memory adapted to this and I’m stuck
