This is wonderful! I can't wait to learn! One thing I think might be helpful though is if after you teach the rhythms if at the end you could play through the whole song, no stops, so that people can play it with you while watching what you do.

This helps sooo much. I am 48 and decided i wanted to learn to play the drums. Not to start or be in a band but just to play along with some songs I like. It's been interesting lol learning the basic rock beats and keeping time. The way you teach is how i learn. Reading drum tabulations makes my brain explode sometimes lmao. I rather just know what to play in what order (ex..bass bass snare bass) vs reading notations. So THANK YOU 😊😊

@@E7MusicSchool yes but not from drumming lol… I walked into the doorway then that night slept on my right shoulder and woke up in the morning not being able to move it… That was three months ago, just starting to be able to raise it up but no strength in it

I thought this would be easy but I didn't think it would be that easy. I'm amazed by my having had zero drum lessons, that I can just pick stuff up almost instantly. Wna know how I did it? I listened to a lot n I mean A LOT of Metallica! I pretty much learnt how to play in my head before I ever picked up any sticks! I love Lars' drumming! I don't call myself a drummer but I have drums and love to play when I can. The key, I've found (I know I have a good few bad habits though), is to practice (obviously) but to be relaxed as you practice. Don't try too hard. I genuinely feel I have some natural talent with drumming as I did try Drumeo's $7 beginner course years after getting my drums and found I knew almost all of it from listening to Metallica n a few other songs here and there. Admittedly, I can't necessarily do it all perfectly but I don't practice enough. I do love the fact that I can hear something enough times and just sit down and play it. Simple stuff, don't get me wrong. I'm really not meaning to be arrogant but I just have a tiny amount of confidence as I really enjoy it and it's rare I have any confidence. Correct me if I'm wrong but surely that signifies some natural talent? So, I feel that if I could just get over the fact that I know people can hear me playing (which I hate as I always think I'm bad at stuff I'm good at) and actually properly learnt how to play drums, I might actually be ok. I do also think it's funny when people slate Lars' drumming and I always ask them "...and how many millions have you made with your drumming?" They soon quieten down. I believe when Metallica formed, Lars didn't know how to play drums. That's why his drumming is particularly unique and simplistic. Not necessarily simple but really effective. Correct me if I'm wrong on that and the next thing I'm about to say but I have a feeling Lars doesn't try to play his fills perfectly live. He just likes to jam along in a relaxed yet fun, way. That's why a lot of people hate his drumming or rather, they don't think he's that good. I personally think that's one of the main reasons I love Metallica. I absolutely love his doubles on the bass drum. So when I came across it on Drumeo's course, I could do a lot of it already but I didn't know the terminology. I ended up struggling with the "easy" lessons and finding the "hard" ones easy. I'm a bit like that. Sorry...I'll shut up now...I don't often talk to well, anyone. I just have to say thank you for this. You've inspired me to pick up my sticks again to learn this. It's been especially tough recently as my dog died, which was the last straw after a 23 year drug addiction and 37 year disability and I tried to kill myself a week later...then I had to have my car scrapped so, I've felt rather trapped and for the first time in 5 years of being alone, I actually feel lonely! I should shut up...sorry! I just needed you to know how grateful I am for this as I aim to try to do this tomorrow. This is arrogance lol but I bet I could do that first time so, thank you again! Keep up the good work!

Hi Matthew! I just read your comment and to be honest, you are exactly the reason I do what I do. I want to inspire people to play the instrument that they love more or inspire them to pick up the sticks and start playing the drums. Either way is a win for me, because I do what I do for the sake of others and the joy of teaching. I would like to personally offer you a month of free live lessons with me. If you accept, email me at jeremy@e7musicschool.com . If you choose to pass on my offer, no worries, feel free to email me anyway, as I’d love to hear from you. Stay awesome and keep drumming! This world is a much better place with you in it. -Jeremy Donson

Why do you play differently 5:06 and 5:30 ?

Great question!! I was showing you can do it w/ or w/out the hi hat, ... good eye! Are you having fun playing it?
@casualprogrammer2 жыл бұрын
@@E7MusicSchool sure! But i'm crazy about "i hate everything about you" at the moment. So far I can play only at x0.75 speed, one of the reason might be that i have only one crash (on the left) and ride on the right and it takes time to fly from one to the other. Do you recommend to buy the same size crash to put next to the ride or take an adventage of having another sounding and buy e.g. 18inch crash instead of another 16inch? I'm from guitar and piano world and my feeling is that drums are not so conservative about pitch and it is not so important which crash you use at certain moment (even ride cymbal sounds similar for me). Cheers!
@E7MusicSchool2 жыл бұрын
@@casualprogrammer I wouldn’t get the same size of crash that you already have, generally your smaller crash is on the left side and larger is on the right side.
