Such an international game isn't it? To me it has the international ability of football. Of course it will always be less patriated. But still I think the same completely universal appeal, free of culture. I'm a developing English pool player from NZ. We had a brilliant player way back called Clark McConachy. He twice played World snooker finals and held the world billiards title for about forever. Good luck to you mate.

I'm from Sonoma, California. I'm lucky to have a snooker table at my local pool hall, the owner just really likes the game so he has a single table near the back of the space. I have a feeling the pockets are a bit too tight, and it isn't exactly balanced, but it's still a fun game.
@jimbrennan74525 жыл бұрын
I'm in Lincoln, Nebraska USA and our pool hall finally got a snooker table (Olhausen Brand) and it was poorly installed where the pockets are a bit tight for down the rail shots to the corner. It is a 5 X 10, only know of one 6 X 12 in the midwest.
@pfunk_15355 жыл бұрын
I actually live in Minnesota, just put down my hometown for the potential map pin. My table, under further inspection, is also very slightly off balance. From the top side of the table, it tilts the balls to the right. I’ve actually used that fact to confuse my opponents in the past. I suppose the amount of tables in the Midwest you are aware of is now 2.

Snooker is fascinating. For instance I believe I heard Mr break from life say he can hit the odd century in one of his recent videos. He was working on His club game. To me, a developing English pool player and avid snooker fan, His skills are incredible. And they portray just how deep and incredibly delicate I'd fine these skills are at the top level. Mr break from life is mind blowingly good and deep in his understanding of the game. Imagine then the step to say the top 16 or 30 players on the world circuit. It's very humbling.

I regularly play against players who are close to becoming pro. If I can win 3 or more frames out of 10 I’m usually fairly happy. If I play against a professional player it’s more like 1 frame in 20. And that’s not even top 32 level

There are examples of holding the rest and not resting it on the table while playing the shot. Sullivan played it during the 2017 edition of European Open and recently Gary Wilson also pulled it off at the crucible. It always makes me wonder how do they keep the rest absolutely still when I tried to play this shot I did make the pot but my rest certainly had a distinct wobble to it.

Break from life, can you please give a physical explanation of the effect of nap on slow side spin shots? I’ve also asked the question in the r/snooker subreddit. Thank you!
@reverseside73874 жыл бұрын
For me.... I liken it to kicking a football, so I remember what the cueball will do going towards baulk against the nap. Hit the football across it's face to the right will send it swerving to the left. I imagine the fibres of the nap facing towards me like the wind. The slower you stroke the ball on the baize, the more obvious it is.... Works for *me* 😉😊

I have a question, I'm mainly a pool player, in aus we don't have much snooker. I love snooker and play it when I can. I'm an okay pool player and can generate heaps of top and back in pool, but with the snooker balls I struggle to get any kind of spin. Any thoughts on why that might be and how to generate better spin on a snooker ball rather than a pool ball.

I think the jump shot is illegal in snooker when done intentionally
@Breakfromlife4 жыл бұрын
There’s no way of telling what is or isn’t intentional. But you can certainly only jump a ball after another has legally been struck
@vanderszpak5 жыл бұрын
This is priceless
@darthgorthaur2584 жыл бұрын
The jumping the cue ball shots arnt "not" known about its the fact they are illegal shots the white ball isn't allowed to leave more than the height of the ball off the bed of the table otherwise it's nota valid shot hence why you never see pros jumping balls.

I believe the jump shot over the ball would be a foul shot
@hxduck5 жыл бұрын
It's only a foul if the white jumps over the object ball without touching it. The white can hit a red and then jump over other reds or hit a colour and jump over other balls.
@Breakfromlife5 жыл бұрын
That’s right although it’s still a foul if you jump over an object ball when you do strike it. Unless it comes into contact with a cushion or another ball first
