This build works out well for Miles, particularly with the comparative lack of “web-slinging” abilities. He even says in the film that he runs better than he swings, so these spells and abilities are a good stand-in for his web-assisted parkour. Oh, and Charisma as the dump stat is just too perfect. Every background also comes with two tool proficiencies or languages in addition to the skills. But Tulok only lists the skills from the background, not the tools. So just substitute painting artisan tools in there, in place of whatever tool the engineer background would have given you.

There actually is a fast spider. It's one of the fastest ambush predators in the world. They think it doesn't use quite the same movement as other spiders, but that it may have some sort of muscular system. Another spider uses its forelimbs to hold a web and grab prey that way. That one I remember, it's called the Ogre-faced spider. It has two massive eyes.

Thorn whip is a good one I found for "web slinging" as it creates a vine that "Pulls target 10 feet towards you" which towards you is relative, so if you jump and then thornwhipped, since you have nothing keeping you stable it pulls you instead.

I've recommended Shantae, and I could definitely see her as a bard (colleges of either lore or glamour) with a possible (but not super likely because you'll want true polymorph) dip into rogue (if you can choose an archetype, definitely swashbuckler). For her race, she'll be a fire genasi, of course for produce flames and burning hands (and it's also nice for fire resistance and darkvision) and I could see her stats going something like this (plus reason): Charisma: 15 (the dancing she does really draws in the crowd) Dexterity: 14 (she wears silk instead of armor, and little silk at that) Intelligence: 13 (Sky teases that Shantae can't read, but navigation and knowledge of magical items isn't for dummies) Constitution: 12 (You fight Risky in a volcano, and she not stopping just so you can catch your breath) Strength: 10 (it's not super necessary) Wisdom: 8 (your friend wants to eat your brain, and you don't have the best judgment)

I've found a different way of creating a spider person in my game. It was long ago so I don't remember details, but he was a variant human who picked the Magic Initiate feat and picked the druid spells Mending (because Peter is good at fixing goobers), Thorn Whip (reflavored as the web) and Entangle (so he could trap people in his web once per day). For levels I got 12 in Thief Rogue and 6 in Way of the Open Hand Monk. Later I also picked one level in Druid so I could get more spell slots for Entangle and Jump. The Alert feat was also neat.

Simic is only technically available in Ravnica tho, most 5e Players use either forgotten realms or settings where they don't exist, so whilst its more suiting for stats it isn't really that accessible.

@@kanashimi4356 Justifying the use of the MTG setting stuff is extremely easy to the point that the only excuse a dm would have is 'I don't wanna use it'. Planes in mtg work very similarly to Dnd, the sole difference being that no single plane acts as a prime material plane. As a result you could very easily slap it onto any setting and it'll be a decent fit and with DnD, it fits on as well as a custom-tailored suit made by a master tailor. Further, both franchises are owned by the same company. About the only problem? too much good material for the dm to use. From the eldrazi to the phyrexians. and there's plenty of things to dump characters from their home plane to another if the dm wants. magic mirrors, magic archways.... hell i think there's a lake that literally leaps you from one plane to another.

I theorycrafted a Miles Moralis build myself and it was pretty different! I actually went for Thief Rogue combined with the Unearthed Arcana Armorer subclass! Armorer gives you a web pull (Thorn Whip), Shocking Grasp, invisibility, and most importantly a ranged zapping web shot. I know Miles does more melee fighting in the movie but I guess Armorer is good for a more traditional web-slinging electric spider.

Yeah probably if you don't want the warlock levels you still gotta do something like he did in this build with four elements for pushing, pulling, stretching, etc. Maybe some other caster levels for Alter self but yeah Luffy, mister Fantastic and all stretchy guys are pretty hard to build in D&D

Luffy is really difficult. Not only do you have to get his stretchiness down, but there’s also his Haki to consider, and at least Gear 2nd. For such a seemingly straightforward character, Luffy has so many different abilities that it would probably be impossible to include all of them and still have him be viable in D&D.

Episode #174 of the Fire Emblem stats: Miles Morales. Ultimate Spider-Man has the same weapon skills as Peter, so he's great at brawling and bows with a weakness to heavy armor. Since he has electricity powers as well, he's great with reason as well. He has pretty much the same stat spread as Peter, with identical speed, dexterity, and bad luck, but his charm is normal and his magic stat is higher. Just for fun, I'm gonna do the other Spider-Verse guys that you put here (I'm guessing you're doing Gwen another time). Peni would of course have the heavy armor as a strength instead of as a weakness, and she'd also get riding. She has better attack than the others. Spider-Ham is great at everything when it comes to weapons since he's a cartoon character, and he doesn't have a heavy armor weakness either. Spider-Ham has even better speed and dexterity but his luck is even worse. Spider-Noir really is just Batman, so let me look him up real quick... He has strengths in brawling and heavy armor since he doesn't fight acrobatically like the other Spider-Men. He has less dexterity but makes up for it with more attack.

If you really want a spidery sneak attack go kensei and pick a whip as one of your kensai weapons. Whips are finesse and at 5 levels of monk it'll do as much normal damage as a short sword. Or if you can get martial weapon proficiency somewhere else the class variant UA let's you pick an extra monk weapon as long as your proficient in it and it doesn't have the heavy, special or two handed property.

Marvel made a d&d game set, it has a book with all the major heroes and villains and their skills. I still have mine. It’s was alright, but if read the comics, then you can easily honebrew the skills and powers. The one problem, of course, is that the stats in the game are from first generation of characters, pre-mutant (meaning most character back stories tended to be ridiculous). Either way, it’s a cool d&d book. Concrete jungle
