In this tutorial I teach how to play Eddie Cochran's classic rock 'n' roll/rockabilly song, 'Somethin' Else', in the key of D (written by Sharon Sheeley and Bob Cochran).
A song sheet containing the lyrics and chords can be viewed or downloaded from my songbook blog here: jezquaylesongb...
In this tutorial I refer to the Chuck Berry style riff that I teach in my Tutorial #2, which can be viewed here: • Tutorial #2 - Chuck Be...
A video of my complete, acoustic guitar version of this song (recorded in March 2023) can be viewed here: • Somethin' Else - Eddie...

Dear Jez , will you please show me how to do this one on my ukulele (tenor) in Key of D as per Jims Ukulele songbook / or just the 1st verse ? thanks
@RocknRollSongbook
@RocknRollSongbook 15 күн бұрын
Hi Dave. I’ve never played this one on the uke. It relies quite a bit on those bass string licks, which are tough to replicate on one uke …and to sing as well. I’ve not seen Jim’s transcription of this song. I’ve not been too impressed with many transcriptions I’ve seen that people have downloaded from that website (quite inaccurate and unclear). It’s a shame that so many uke players rely on those transcriptions.
