Christian this is a really fantastic tutorial of one of Dr. John's essential to learn pieces. Really excellent detailed explanation of both hands. Thankyou so much for posting this. I too echo the thoughts of another comment and suggest "There must be a better place somewhere" as a suggestion for a possible further tutorial. Really excellent Christian, keep up the great work you are doing for the blues loving piano community out here. Wonderful!

For solo piano, would you not move the bottom notes up on the verse, an octave up?

I'd really appreciate if you'd do one on his "There Must Be A Better World Somewhere". It has some REALLY tasty and beautiful chord movements. I tried to pick up the general frame and style of it by ear at some point but couldn't really do it very well (I'm a classical pianist). Another unveiled mystery is Mulgrew Miller's "Old Folks" here on youtube, I'm gonna find out what he's doing there before I die, even if it takes 30 years.
