If i ever manage to become an even remotely competent jazz pianist it'll be all because of you. Even if you dont teach all there is to learn, you're the only one with explanations clear enough that make me want to stick with it rather than run back to my classic sheet music with my tail between my legs.

I Always questioned why you talked so much about your vídeos. However now that I see the translation I understand what it says about the songs and I consider your considerations relevant. Thanks.

What's the reason for the Bm7b5 and E7#9?
@ruairidhirwin17672 жыл бұрын
Can anyone explain how that is an E7 chord? It seems to have a flattened 3rd and a flattened 6th, which I've never seen in a 7 chord. Pretty sure I'm making some mistake but can anyone tell me what?

Great comping! I couldn’t find the written sheet in the link (it leads to “be-bop explained” instead :-(

why is it called Rootless Am7 and not CM7?
@GarenGarson4 жыл бұрын
JUST starting....only my 3rd week trying learn.....what I can't understand is the the Am7 seems to me to be the same notes as the Cmaj chord....what am I missing?
@forgetful98454 жыл бұрын
C major has the notes C-E-G. Am7 has the notes A-C-E-G.
@BerndBausch2 жыл бұрын
I really like your approach. And I love Summertime. However, the first line is supposed to be alternating between Am7 and Bb7. But then, you say it's Am9 and Bb9 (and indeed, that's what you play). So, as a beginner, I keep getting confused. In fact, a rootless 7 chord should consist of three notes. But according to the chart in the upper left corner, they are all four notes. So, they can't be rootless 7s; I guess they are all 9s. Or am I missing something? After all, I *am* a beginner.
@rachelsmename5 жыл бұрын
What is the G considered in the E7 chord here? A flat 3rd?
@MrJellyton5 жыл бұрын
That's the #9

In the Bm7b5, why is the C in there and why wouldn't it be a c# :)

Did you use sustain pedal?
@JutassicPark5 жыл бұрын
If so, can you explain how you use the pedal for this lesson?
@verybarebones5 жыл бұрын
I think thats easy to hear. If the notes are ringing but the fingers arent on the matching keys, thats the pedal.
@leonardoabbattista4324 Жыл бұрын
You can play all the song before you start teaching, i think is more hopefully, please!
