Sped My departed brother taught me this Zep tune some 30yrs ago. After I had a plate and 7 bolts placed in my arm..wounded Marine vet therapy.. Your patience reminded me of him and touched my soul and brought back those young days of a care free memory sitting on the front porch taking lesson from him.. I just have a Alvarez r20d12 but with this tutorial I will be getting a Strat and a Katana 50 is in the works. I am very rusty but still have a motivation to clean it up. Keep it up.. your patience is a virtue.. your editing and the quad split screens tells me you disected the song as Jimmy did. I know that was "dayz of work". Well done and keep it up.. Just fantastic.

It was inspirational to read your story, Ginny. Keep at it and you'll get there. I had a smashed right wrist (along with other injuries) some 14 years ago and couldn't play for about 4 years. Had to change hands and relearn. Had a new wrist built about 5 years ago and it's opened up a new world for me. Since I've Been Lovin' You is THE song that made me take up the guitar some 45 years ago and it's only since I decided to relearn has my playing really improved. This is why Jimmy Page is so incredible. For example.. the intro... the nuances, the variations...each one builds and resolves....the light and shade. It's these little things that make such a massive difference and make his music living, breathing works of art. This is Page on display as master guitar composer and arranger. It's actually a rather simple song, but the depth of his guitar orchestration makes it such a rich tonal palette. As always though with Zep, the sum is greater than it's disparate parts. Plants lovelorn lyrics alongside the carefully crafted music had me crying my eyes out over lost teenage love a few decades ago. Emotion plus incredible creativity and musicality makes this one of my all time favorites. No other band has captured lightning in a bottle quite like Zeppelin did.

Been playing this song(certainly not good as you) for years. I never used the drop d tuning until you demonstrated the middle break part. It makes a huge difference in the tone of those notes. Thanks sir for a great lesson well done !

It's really amazing 'getting to know' my lifelong favorite songs / guitarists by learning the songs on guitar. I'm 55 and only started playing during Covid but i play almost every day so i can confidently say that i don't suck anymore. On the way home from work I'll be thinking of which songs i want to work on, i love it! Learning an AC DC or Metallica or Van Halen song is SO different from learning a Led Zeppelin song. Even before i started playing i noticed how different LZ was. No two of their songs sound the same, no two albums sound the same, they never used juvenile rhyming lyrics...not even in the beginning, it's absolutely incredible what they did as far as creating music. And unfortunately, playing the guitar parts of a LZ song isn't as recognizable or fun as back in black for example, except for stairway. Maybe that's why it's so cliche to play that song? But i love LZ songs just as much! It feels wrong to listen to LZ songs unless they're in proper album order. Random idea i thought of - get Bon Scott's voice input into an AI computer and have him sing the Back in Black songs!!! Wouldn't that be wild!!

There is actually no way one guitar can do this justice live, that's why Jimmy didn't go that route. It takes all 3 guitars, go check Jimmy with the Black Crowes. My greatest wish would have been to see Eric and Jeff get up on stage with Zeppelin to do it, that would have been the Ultimate, even better than when they did Layla at Arms with Jimmy on slide.

Sped Spedding Hi Sped, those solos were out of this world man. Beautiful chords and you’ve got the tone spot on. Way beyond my ability. I’m a newbieish player and I’ve came to this game late in life. Maybe, some day... This is a great song and everyone will have their favourite parts. What you have named example 3 and example 5 are mine. Thanks to your excellent tuition ( clear and concise👍🏻) I can make reasonable versions of these. I also have that Zep t-shirt you’re wearing. Though, sadly, not the locks. 🤟🏼
