u should ABSOLUTELY finish every lesson by playing the song thru so one can see the desired finished product. My biggest complaint is a lesson like this when i get all the parts down seperately but just have a couple questions that can be quickly cleared up by a play-thru.

i've never understood trying to "learn" a strumming pattern. I am very visual, very black and white...but a strumming pattern is way easier to feel than to memorize up down down up up up down up etc...

silvermist it's called a capo..it helps increase pitch..i.e, reduces string length so the pitch increases..you can play without it but for a key change it'll be harder to manage without it

Jose Martinez just finger placement not on stings it just looks like it. Also common to use two fingers on a string for added pressure.
