Fun Fact: When Zatana casts, she keeps sentence structures the same. So it'd be "Yar Fo Tsorf" for Ray of Frost. Not to suggest you should change this vid or anything, Z is just one of my fav characters in the DCU and learning that fact made me even more impressed with the shit she would have to memorize. Like reversing a sentence is hard enough, but she has to reverse each individual word while keep them all in the right order. Which just feels harder.

For a powerbuild I’d recommend swapping the first level of Sorcerer and the first level of Bard, that way you get proficiency with Constitution saving throws. Also it works thematically, your innate magic power awakes and then your father teaches you how to control it the same way he learned, with Showmanship.

Don't feel bad, she was a Justice Society legacy (Like Black Canary) who was featured in the Justice League Unlimited show which led to her being in Batman's Brave and Bold TV show, which led to her becoming a part time member of the comic book JLA, where she used her magic to erase Dr. Light's memories which led to Sue Digby's death and the fracturing of the team. All this led to a cameo on Smallville and inclusion into the Injustice video game. So yeah, she's been around for quite some time, but she's not the first magic user you go to in the DC universe. That's Dr. Fate. But Zaranna is a lot nicer, so she gets more screen time. (Also nicer to look at. Her stage costume has fishnet stockings, and cleavage)

Hey Tulok. Finally getting around to catching up on these builds. Not the most knowledgeable about Zatanna but she seems deceptively simple. Race: Variant Human, I'm going to guess with either Metamagic Adept, Magic Initiate, or Elemental Adept feats. Background: I don't really know what her history on the show is. All I know is in Justice League unlimited she was a member of the Justice League as well as a stage magician. So either Sage or Entertainer. Stats #1: Intelligence: Remembering how to speak backwards to use magic would be pretty difficult and jut so happens to be one of the spellcasting modifiers my guess will have. #2: Charisma: Being a stage performer takes style and, surprise surprise, Charisma is the other main stat I'm guessing this build will need. #3: Wisdom: I'm sure being a part of the Justice League Dark would come with it's fair share of Wisdom saving throws, so this will help with that. #4: Dexterity: According to her from Justice League during her shows she finishes with real magic, everything else is sleight of hand and smoke and mirrors, so Dexterity would likely be higher than other physical stats. #5: Constitution: Like my explanation for a lot of other characters, Zatanna is jut a regular human. True regular humans in superhero mediums tend to be quite a lot more sturdy than other people (looking at you My Hero Academia, no person could be jut fine after getting blasted into concrete hard enough to leave a cater) but still really easily taken down by bullets and knives. #6: Strength: Just a regular human and I didn't want to guess the dumping of Constitution. Class(es) - Reading up on her character stated she is a master of innate and learned magic. So that's why I'm guessing Wizard and Sorcerer multiclass. Specifically an illusion wizard and either Abarant Mind or Storm Soul Sorcerer. The Sorcerer subclass isn't as important. Ideally there would be a subclass focused more on general magic, maybe a very metamagic focused one where you can get 10+ sorcery points by the end? Of course that would have balancing issues. Oh well. Alright Tulok, bring on the centaur Ranger/Monk/Barbarian/Fighter!

Episode 268 of the Fire Emblem stats: Zatanna Zatara. Big shock, she's chiefly great at both types of magic as well as authority due to her way with words. She has a weakness in only heavy armor because she tends to dress up as a stage magician. Her magic and resistance are the stars of her stat growths here, but she is more fragile on the physical side of things in terms of both strength and defense.

Probably depends on if the Unown are Great Old Ones or Fae. -Impa from Legend of Zelda. Basically either Hyrule Warriors version but they would play much differently. -Aerith Gainsborough from FF7 since you have a good start on the rest of AVALANCHE and we need more clerics. -Princess Daisy. You did Peach and I know they play the same in Smash but Daisy would be an Athlete at least. -May as well start reading up on Pyra and Mythra as well since you'll have to make them eventually! -Lucca from Chrono Trigger. Artificer/fire mage would be an amazing combo. -Android 18 from Dragon Ball Z. Are you still a warforged if you started off as a human? -Ultimecia from FF8. Chronomancer is an interesting class and she's got control over the folds of time! -Mipha from BotW. We need more tritons, and the combination of healing magic and aggressive spear attacks is highly appealing. -Urbosa from BotW. Command of electricity is always a great power and she's a master with a sword too. -Mitsuru from Persona 3. Leader of the bunch, ice powers, and can summon a semblance of her own passionate spirit, the problem would be narrowing down a focus because she's one of those characters that's probably level 30.

I personally think one of the ASIs used should be replaced with the warlock feat for Devil's sight... you don't really need to boost dexterity by the end, and this gives you more options with your darkness spell... but aside from that, it's perfect

Kinda makes sense that Zatanna isn't a pure sorceress in this build. After all, sorcerers can get subtle spell, and Zatanna's literally powerless if she gets bound and gagged.

Does anyone feel like a wizard would be better than a sorcerer level you get almost the same amount of cantrips more spells and access to find familiar(great way to pull a rabbit out of a hat or make doves appear out of nowhere. Maybe even take two levels to get an arcane tradition like enchantment or illusion to keep you audience spellbound. If you want to keep the advantage maybe divination or chronogist would fit well. You already have the int score for it and while it may not hit as often it is still good.
