No. I use the same one. Just rake it out between compounds

@@Fleshnbloodrobot It's not jewelry or a flat mirror surface. It's a curved stainless exhaust that will never be looked at dead on. I polish for a living so I don't have time to spend hours and hours running through grits lol. I achieve awesome results with this method on this application.

Never turned gold. Must just be the lighting. Our living room lights are more yellow than florescent.

do you have to add a protective coating of clear ceramic at the end so they don't corrode?

It's stainless steel, it will hold up for awhile. And it gets so hot that any additive you put on will just burn off. Just plan to go under there once in a while and cleaning it off.
