You spotted a nice plant. They are deep rooted abs hold soil strongly. Looks beautiful when the entire stand is in bloom. Furthermore, they attract a wide diversity of pollinator insects like bees, butterflies

Will try your method just now thank you 🙏

Thank you. Our climate may not be quite hot enough to leave the plant outside for the bees so pollinating with a brush will do the trick.

Hi, This is my first time growing Eggplants (2). how many days after the blossom appears before you can pollinate the flower. I don't see pollen transferred to the pistol. I used a soft paint brush yesterday and the pistil is still green. Should i have seen pollen on the pistol yesterday or this morning?
@eljardinperdido6 ай бұрын
If the blossoms are opened up, they should be ready. I just take one and distribute the pollen throughout

How many times do you pollinate one flower?
@eljardinperdido Жыл бұрын
I just do it periodically as I see new flowers. Maybe every few days.

Maybe try a paint brush? Also, it may be too cold for them to produce right now...

I am living in the tropics. At last! It is setting fruits now.. But I just got one to set fruit. This is the first time I got myself an egg plant. It's how I planted it. Reason of not setting fruits is do to stress. In future I will plant in a bigger pot. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnTVgHV6rqyigKM

helo how many times do you pollinate in 1 week?
@eljardinperdido4 жыл бұрын
Usually the flowers are open at the same time. I’d maybe go through them once a week. Keep in mind with colder temperatures this time of year the blossoms may get too damaged to produce fruit until spring.

I have no pollen in my flower. what should I do besides rooting it up

Could be timing. They may be old flowers. Just keep your eye on them

What do I do my eggplant got start flower then they foldown where I am going wrong
@eljardinperdido4 жыл бұрын
Could be that they're not being pollinated. It can be tricky because even when the fruit is successfully pollinated, the blossom will eventually fall off. If you're not getting any fruit at all, try this hand pollinating method. Make sure you are using fresh flowers. Older flowers will not pollinate well, and will also eventually fall off. Sometimes strong winds, shock, or harsh weather can contribute to this as well.

I don’t see any sticky pollen is it still possible that it’s transferring something that I just cannot see?
@eljardinperdido4 жыл бұрын
Pollen itself is microscopic. You’re seeing the accumulation of it when you can physically see it.

Are there male and female flowers?
@eljardinperdido4 жыл бұрын
They're both. That's why you remove the stigma (male part) to paint the female pollen onto the other stigmas....

My eggplants flowers were expired. Not bearing fruits. what should i do .?
@eljardinperdido4 жыл бұрын
I have just run into the same problem. My eggplant is about 2-3 years old and has officially stopped setting fruit. Rip it out and start some new plants.. I guess if they don't freeze, they can be considered perennials, but I suppose they still eventually have an expiration date.
@hallamharris50244 жыл бұрын
what is that plant in the background looking like cabbage
@eljardinperdido4 жыл бұрын
Collard greens. Georgia variety I believe...
@STaRBoY-sn9cm4 жыл бұрын
Im so confused. Other videos about eggplant pollination sa its already a perfect flower that a flower already has both male and female parts so you just have to rub thr side of the center flower to the center part. Other videos says the are 2 separate flowers male and female so you would have to rub the center of a flower to the other flower. 😓
@eljardinperdido4 жыл бұрын
Perhaps it depends on the variety. Basically, yes. You need to rub the male and female parts together one way or another. Depends how much the stigma protrudes, I suppose...
@STaRBoY-sn9cm4 жыл бұрын
@@eljardinperdido ah yes probably it, the variety. I really appreciate that. Much Thanks 👊😍
