The number of supported models and car years is increasing too slowly.

Get involve. Pick a car and work out its codes. Don't just wait for someone else to do it. The more people extracting the codes the more cars will be supported -- each year.

I am thinking of buying, but it is not totally clear if a mechanic can install and operate? My car is a 2024 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid Limited. There is no listing for the 2024 model. Open source? does this allow me to adjust "braking distance" "adjust acceleration rate" "steering speed/rate" ? Will open source let me drive a daily route and program that route ?

2010 Prius has all that data but not lane keep as standard. Can it be used without lane keep?

Not sure... I am planning to do this with my toyota auris touring sports (2012). It only has the automatic parking system and I found also the can messages for steering. So if your car has the automatic parking thing, then maybe yes. -- I am currently struggling with braking, how this could possibly work (I know there are can messages, which can test the brakes, but I think they are not intended to use for braking). Gas should at least work with a comma pedal interceptor. - Wish you luck to find out! :)

Really want to port this for polestar 2 but people reckon it is Flexray based :/

My idea about Flex is to create a function that abstracts the user from the protocol. One shouldn't have to know how long the packet was (thats a network issue) one should focus on the data you got (even if it takes 2 or more data packets to get everything you normally got from one). An Abstraction layer should separate the protocol from the data. We need one.
