torque spec and breakaway torque are 2 different things. prob not critical in this application, but can be in other areas. the more you know :)

Hello, i found your video because i installed a ported 4piston oil pump in my k24 setup. My surprise is that the oil pressure in iddle and with cold engine at 1500rpm its only 2 to 1.5bar and with engine warmed i maintain the iddle at 1150rpm to keep the oil pressure at 1 or 0.8bar 😫. I rebuilt lot of honda engines and i always add the washers in the piston zone of the oil pump to get more oil pressure. I wrote to 4p but i have no response.. im so angry with this situation because i spent lot of money in the chains, oil pump, oil sump, chain guide, etc.. and i have oil pressure problems now. Running over 2000rpm to 8000rpm i got 2.5 to 5bar max at 90°C oil temp. If i get lower iddle, to 800rpm the pressure downs to 0.6 and sometimes the cluster oil pressure light goes on.. im so so worry about this. Im thinking in add more washers to the oil pump piston to try to solve this. I dont want to remove all and disassemble the engine again… 2 years preparing this car.. I dont know what is happening here, but install a new oil pump its so easy! I checkd timming chain 3 times and i have pictures before close engine of all.. What is your opinion about this? When using a k20 type s pump on a k24 there’s an oil port you need to plug on the girdle, or you will have low oil pressure. Make sure you have that plugged. If your bearing clearances are good I would look into swapping out for another pump to see if it changes. - Aiden

@@KSSRacing hey, thanks for your fast answer. Today i was discussing this problem in a whatsapp group and they told me just that! I cant understand why the oil pump provider or the 4p brand didnt gave me this info.. I will remove the oil restrictor and seal the hole. I will answer you when i test it the pressure. Thanks a lot!

@@sIrKicK no problem! When you remove that plug, some blocks are already threaded & some are not, so you might need to tap that hole. In our case we sealed it with a bolt & copper washer

@@KSSRacing Hello, i refilled the Oil with new Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 10W50 and started the car with the new 8mm screw. With cold engine the oil pressure showed 6.5Bar at 1600rpm :) so.. perfect! and at 60ºC of oil temp 5,3Bar.

I think u will loose pressure, with the work u have done, because if there was increase in pressure by porting it more or creating more room for oil passage, in that case the company engineers were not fool stupid who were unable to do this porting which u have done. They could also do the same thing which u have done, but whatever company engineers do is always best 100% with full research. The oem passage is always best for maximum oil pressure.

It’s a very common mod people do! Especially for performance, 1000hp + cars have done this

I ported mine and I opened more then him and i got from 9 to 10 psi warm! To 19 to 24 psi oil presure! Its about open the flow and get more oil consistently in a effective way! The area where the oil wait to pass is small for high rev and hp cars! So when you have more space for oil and bigger flow you can rev up to 11k safely with cams if you want!

@@Tsxmichael that's good, but I am unfortunate with type s pump, I recently installed in my accord euro r cl7, and very next day, my crank shaft started giving noise. So now I have installed k 24a rbb-4 motor whole head assembly, all stock. I am much more satisfied with it as compared with my k20a rbc, I haven't changed anything it, all stock from top till bottom, stock oil pump. Its definatley more powerful than K20a, more throttle response, more torque, and too much responsive in lower rpm too. Car is feeling light in weight.
