I really like the message here. I don't believe in law of attraction, so I would probably stop watching if I hadn't seen another comment saying that it was worth it. And yeah, it was worth it! Very good insight 🙂👏
@MaxwellNichols8 ай бұрын
Love this take! I figured law of attraction works mostly by shifting your locus of control and increasing mindfulness. A lot of the practices are very meditative and gratitude based. Its a strange pseudoscience because I don't think its actual detrimental to practice so long as you remain proactive

You're absolutely right, Jay. There is ZERO evidence that thoughts ALONE can materially influence a person's life. Those thoughts have to be backed up with action, and continually mentally focusing on a specific goal can (help) act as sort of a mental GPS to help guide us along the road to our goal. Then surrounding ourselves with people who want to help encourage and support us is another big factor. Ultimately, we then have to reverse engineer our path to that goal, and make sure every step we take along the way leads us in that direction. There's always going to be external circumstances that may get in our way from time to time, but ultimately, it's like the old adage says: "Whether you think you can, or you think you can't... you're probably right." So I know that you and I are going to make it. I'm with you.

Great video! I think an important piece to this is also simply the action one takes towards their statement / prediction. Simply making a prediction means nothing without the action required to achieve that prediction / goal

I understood a few days ago, how good of a timing. I think it was Kant who proposed that we influence the way we see the world, we're active participants of our perception. We're interpretative animals. It's crazy, but it kind of works.

Marcus Tullius Cicero, presented the following story. One Diagoras, a nonbeliever in the gods, was shown painted tablets bearing the portraits of some worshippers who prayed, then survived a subsequent shipwreck. The implication was that praying protects you from drowning. Diagoras asked, “Where were the pictures of those who prayed, then drowned?”

I found your channel 2 or 3 videos ago. I like your work but this time wanted to give my two cents on your storyline. Like others I almost clicked out at first because it was going to the pseudo-science way... But I stayed (because I like your previous videos). I believe you video could perform better (losing fewer people along the way) buy font loading with the real question! "These guys have predicted their success, is that due to the law of attraction, luck?" In one sentence, we need to understand that you will have a wide approach. Also, the use of survivorship bias is great and is one of the key answers. But for people who don't know I think teasing it in the intro would have huge benefit. I don’t often comment, please don't take my comment the wrong way. Like you I am trying to put out great content and I know feedback is helpful.

Will hijack the thread and tell you that I can sense heavy resistance to allowing your gut to call the shots. You are dancing with the thought of some higher forces at play but your mind is still resisting that trying to rationalize something that cannot be rationalized. Mind tries to override gut with logic. Logic is a lower level of decision making. Trick is, this cannot be proven, only experienced, and it's the reason why most have resistance to it. My professional career cannot be attributed to anything else other than some sort of manifestation, that's when I went from all sciencey guy to someone that can experience the unexplained marvels. It doesn't mean it's not "scientific", it's just that modern science hasn't caught up to this stuff yet. Also wait until you find out how closely linked the occult and old sciences are. Issac Newton translated the Hermetic Emerald Tablet, Pythagoras was part of a cult heavy into numerology. Even in modern times, Steve Jobs went to India to learn astrology and numerology. It's a modern development that the occult and the world of science are separate entities.

Will check it out. I’m going to make another video on success soon. Such an interesting topic.
@coscorrodrift8 ай бұрын
Dope vid. I was already thinking about the red dot plane picture when you pulled out the Secret lmao. Something I've always thought would be interesting would be to highlight "figures of success" who've reached success without predicting it. i think on youtube there's plenty of ppl who just were trying to do one thing, then stumbled upon another they liked more. I think MrBeast is in fact someone like this, but he always had the overarching "KZbin" background that shadows the fact that he's basically tried a ton of different shit so it sounds great to tell. But for example, I follow a KZbinr called Caroline Winkler who failed at her acting career, and accorrding to her she gave it her all, she hustled hard at it, but just eventually gave up when she realised she actually started to dread the process, that casting call cycle, going to auditions etc, so she went to coding school , got a job there, and then while working made a youtube channel about interior design. And now that's her full time thing. I like MrBeast but I think for me it's much more important to hear about figures like her (and i love to watch people like her on youtube) to balance ambition with realness and life constraints, etc. Another side of that coin that would be interesting to highlight would be the people who did name this goal very clearly, but just failed. I think the easiest way to do this would be looking at money, there are millions and millions of people who i'm sure said something like "if i'm not a millionaire by 30..." etc who just are still away from their initial stated goal, who've (rightfully) changed their goal now, etc etc. And for what it's worth, I think your goal somewhat makes sense, i'm trying to articulate it mine but I'm having more trouble than you in doing it that succintly. You say you want to "hit a million subs going against the meta" and I respect that a lot, and I really vibe with that , but I'm not sure if what i'm doing is compatible with the million subs. I think in my case I would say that i want to reach the 1000 right people really deeply. And I think that is your actual goal and that the 1000000 subs thing is your way of reaching that, from what i see on your pinned tweet. I'd like to know what are you doing on the side of youtube, or what you did before. Not sure if you 've spoken about it somewhere else but i'm curious to see what your "gameplan" is
