Very informative video! Keep it up guys! But in the video you announced that you would put the emergency number in the description. But I couldn't see it on my mobile phone. So, if you don't mind here it is: 0800 0302 112. Remember, the exact information is important for the fastest response, what happenend, where on the track, with how many, are people injured.

Thank you for videos like this (and also all other videos you're making). It's allways nice to get some infos from real "insiders". I've bought a "ringtool" myself some weeks ago and been at the track twice since. There are some points you mentioned (more detailed on some of your other videos) which I noticed msyelf some times now some drivers there just don't take serious. I think the most important thing is to check your car well in advance. Really every time I've been to TF (as driver, co-driver or just spectator) I've seen some real crap-cars, which sometimes I'm not sure if these are even roadworthy/legal, driving the Ring at TF. And most times when things like oil-/coolantleaks, lost parts, flat tires etc. happend, these where caused by these crappy cars. I'm a car-technician myself, doing this for a living for over 15 years now, and I think I learned pretty well to judge if a car just looks crappy on the outside (which isn't a problem, if the car is technically well) or really is crappy (and those sometimes even don't look that bad at first glance). As you said, if you're unsure if your car can handle it or you just can't afford your car to be well maintened/prepared etc. go out and rent a car, which is up to the task - or at least get your car checked by a professional in advance if you're unsure and lack the knowledge. I think this alone would make the TF a lot saver and I even think the officials should check out some cars in advance before letting them drive the track. Sometimes you just can tell, that a car isn't up to the task and will cause an incident...

Also for anyone else from the UK looking to visit for the first time, please take what Robert said on board and make sure you have insurance, also make sure you have European breakdown cover. www.insuremytrackday.com are able to provide instant quotations for you based on dates, previous experience with Trackdays and performance driving, and your vehicle details. As the Nordschleife continues to grow in popularity pulling visitors from all over Europe and beyond, it’s just not worth the risk going uninsured.

If you should be in Stuttgart already for the Porsche Museum, you should check out the Mercedes Museum too :) but be carefull, the mercedes Museum could take you up to one day. Its quiet big. So if you want to see the porsche and mercedes Museum, you should probably stay 2 days in Stuttgart. And if you are really lucky you can book a factory tour in the factorys of Porsche and Mercedes that are nearby. Additionally Stuttgart has a very good Opera thingy stuff. And there are some cool Castles (in Stuttgart and Ludwigsburg) around if you like stuff like that :) And If you want to go to munich for BMW after that, you should stop in Neckarsulm for Audi Sport where you can also get a factory tour with luck or connections ;)

Such useful information. I firmly believe anyone going to the ring for the first time should’ve done at least a day on a normal circuit if only to get a feel for the car and gauge the braking etc. The more research on the ring people do before venturing out the better whether it be in car KZbin footage or even gaming but......there’s absolutely no substitute for lapping the circuit for real ❤️

Actually i have to admit a thing about driving in wet. My first ever TF laps were during the rain, i was sceptic about it at first and kinda scared, because ive watched too many crash videos. But i had Misha as my instructor and had awful lot of fun. Track was empty and it wasnt scary at all. 218 was also great for that purpose.

Excellent video again guys, really enjoying the podcast format and keeps me going in work. The M3 fleet plan makes me quiver a little. Could another question to raise be - What else is there to do @ NBR, where is best to eat around the 'ring (Ventisette of course) I wasn't aware that you could get food in EDs for example. What else is there to do near the circuit on days when you're waiting for the track to open (Schumacher Karting etc) A lot of our trips have had quite a bit of down time waiting around but a run down of other things to do whilst at NBR could be a handy side note. Thanks again guys, really great content so far

From my experience the Merc museum will easily take a whole day and because of that I didn't make it to the Porsche museum on my trip although I really wanted to. So if you can't force yourself to walk quickly through the museum be prepared to spend 2 days Stuttgart. The BMW museum is much smaller in comparison and won't take as much time.
@sermovies3217
@sermovies3217 6 жыл бұрын
BMW Museum also one day easy..... Nürburgring is not at the bottom of the world, but you can see it from there... =). But on the closest cities which are worth a visit probably Cologne and Frankfurt.
@WOOWOW96
@WOOWOW96 6 жыл бұрын
I will have to disagree. BMW is by far my favourite car manufacturer but I can't really imagine how you would manage to spend a whole day in that museum. I went through it very slowly (except maybe for the motorcycles where I didn't take as much time), definitely slower than 90% of the people and it took me 3,5-4 hours tops and I really don't think I missed anything.

Very informative Misha and Robert. I am glad I watched this one. I hadn't really thought about what else I might do if I went there other than drive the track or ride as a passenger so you guys have made some valid points for me. The thought of driving a rental car from Colone to your hotel and back is an interesting one, but is there some sort of international drivers license I would require or would my license from the US be sufficient? Obviously I would have to study up on road signs and driving laws there, but that shouldn't be too bad lol. I guess I will have to email Dyana to get the list of points of interest around there, though I would imagine I would spend quite a bit of time with my camera at various corners watching the cars.

I would like to know what time of year there are less people on track. No matters the time or is wet. I think the most sensible thing is to enter as a co-driver with someone experienced, then do it with a rental car for the Nurburgring see the mistakes and at the end do it on a track day with you own car. Most of the people that raced for years told me the same. If you want to go fast, first you have to learn how to drive slow. Know you limits and the car, the rules, be gentle with the people around you. Simple as that. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the tips Robert and Misha, but regarding the emergency number, if we are not German (and i think especially to britsh or non European people), it will not be free i guess, or maybe not usable at all?

I think we should find out who is the fastest driver. Misha, Tim or Robert? You should make a karting race, as the lap times on the Nurburgring were banned.

I just gonna say that Tim is without a doubt the fastest of us.

Would still be really fun to watch while the track is closed, even better if you did it at the Michael Schumacher karting rather than the electric ones at the Nurburghring. Tom could get some brilliant drone footage.

If everyone gets to use their own personal cars i am hands down the fastest... if we all have equal cars, see Misha's comment lol
