This comment is for to let people know about the little things you can also do: 1. You can recruit Starwalker in Chapter 1 by backtracking after ringing a bell (he will then join your pocket) 2. You can recruit a little car by not hitting any of the cars in chapter 2 3. You can earn “bed inspector” title by interacting with all the heart beds in chapter 1 and keep it by interacting with all the beds in chapter 2 (there’s about five) 4. You can earn “moss finder” title by finding the moss in chapter 2 5. You can get Susie a plushy for her room by giving her the gift in chapter 2. There could also be a possibility that Ralsei and Noelle will have a version of their own plushy in their room if you give it them that you could see in future chapters. 6. Try to find the only knock able door in chapter 2 and keep knocking on the door in the light world of the guy who judges your knocking skills. 7. Get a statue for Susie’s room and a thing in Kris’s room by collecting them in Noelle’s room in chapter 2 8. Give the top cake to top chef on chapter 1 to get the spin cake which can heal your entire team by a lot (helpful with secret bosses) and get a new one which heals more every chapter. 9. Talk to Noelle in chapter 1 about Susie to get chalk which will become light candy in chapter 2 (could be important for later) 10. Backtrack in chapter 2 to the Addison who sells tea to buy a Susie tea and a Ralsei tea (just incase again) Little things to look out for in the next chapters 1. Interact with all the beds to keep “bed inspector” title 2. Find a moss pile to keep “moss finder” title 3. Basically interact with everything to earn a third title 4. Be experimental to see if you can find a secret recruit like starwalker and the little car. 5. Also basically interact with anything and make decisions to collect more items for your friends rooms. If you ever get a new party member (or something important happens that might change the relationship between them), save, give them every single tea (and any other consumible item wouldn't be a bad idea either), and then then close the game so you recover the items. You might get some nasty lore from this, and I would really like Toriel to drink Ralsei's tea.

If you don’t hit a lot cars during the driving segment of Chapter 2 you can also get a little car that runs around in Castle Town when you return there, probably not as relevant as other things like starwalker but it’s still neat

Things to keep in mind: The game tracks certain things you do across save files with the dr.ini file in the save folder. Some of these things include how many enemies you've spared, put to sleep, fought, or frozen. I don't know if this will affect things in other save files (Toby said multiple save files are not required to reach the ending, but not if they will interact with one another), but be aware of this. Might be worth it to have some backups on the computer itself just incase.

I never thought about the recruit stuff. My saves are: 1. Regular gameplay, with all recruits, all secret eggs, all secret bosses. 2. Snowgrave route. 3. An extra save file in front of the secret boss so I don't have to replay the game to fight them again.

1:07 I have a theory on why this may be important, at the end of chapter 2, the amount of recruits you have effects the total health of the thrash machine during the giga queen battle, as you already know the games setting up the titans to be a big threat in the end game of deltarune, so what if to battle the titans you use the thrash machine again, and the amount of recruits you have will determine how easy or hard this battle will be because your health will be either super high or super low at the start depending on how many recruits you have. TLDR: it could effect how much health you have in a battle against the titans if we end up using the thrash machine against them during the end game

Not enough people are talking about this one I feel like: In chapter 2 if you defeat Berdly with violence in any of the three times you fight him, then after the Queen fight he heavily injures his arm in order to free himself from Queen's plug. The intresting thing is that this injury seeminly carries over into the light world because Berdly says that his arm won't move just before he leaves the library. So I wonder how that will effect the later chapters.

Just dropping the saves I have prepared (I might have gone a bit overboard): - Blind Save (literally my first time playing both chapters, I never got to Spamton NEO at first, so it might become a no-secret-bosses run) - Perfect Save (all recruits, secret bosses, Starwalker, Egg, everything I could do, pretty much) - Weird Save (snowgrave route) - Weirder? Save (aborted snowgrave route for the possibility you aren’t able to get the Thorn Ring back from Noelle, which makes this the only way to keep it right now, might be unnecessary) - Violent Save (attack everything) - Jerk Save (attack everything I can that doesn’t lock me out of anything. In this case, don’t attack Spamton at first, as this bars you from the Spamton Neo fight. Also, using this one to collect money in the light world, stealing and selling the chocolates, because I think there’ll be a way to collect more every chapter and eventually you’ll be able to do something with it). I don’t know whether I’ll actually play all of these, as at least 2 of them might become unnecessary. But still.

Really good video, I've been putting off "setting up" my saves for a while but it's been something I've been thinking about doing for a while as we get closer to the next release. I can tell you put a lot of thought into how each save will let you potentially experience the most of Deltarune. I was also wondering if I should just use a save editor and flip the flags to my personal taste so I don't have to replay chapters 1 and 2, but I feel that would make my save less personal because the game keeps track of so many little things. I'm hoping that Toby eventually has some sort of way to mitigate the amount of permanently missable content because there seems to be a lot of it and the game is turning out to be way longer than Undertale.

One thing I believe would be pretty neat is having a run where you have a bugged out snow grave, where you abort the run but are still able to use "snow grave". You can manage to do this by sparing Berdly and using "snow grave" on the "Maus enemies" that spawn in the cheese room. ( The possibility of this being patched out does exist though"

Currently, the cheese maze doesn't respawn if you abort the route there. But you can keep the spell if you defeat Berdly with non-lethal violence.

I decided not to complete snowgrave. Toby isn't one to just ignore the consequences of our actions (soulless pacifist) and if you defeat the secret bosses on one file, you can get the items on a different file without refighting them. Who knows what can happen in the future.

Realistically, having a save for recruiting, losing, and Snowgrave makes sense...I'm just gonna keep my Recruit, Snowgrave, and Bossrush file, where I'm stationed right outside of Jevil and Spamton (and soon to be the other secret bosses) so I can refight them any time. Until Toby adds in a Boss Rematch that's official and I don't need to have those files there

if it were me i would have 3 saves. save 1 paci, save 2 fighting and save 3 weird route. do everything on save 2 OTHER than the final fight and spamton. and save outside spamtons room so u can refight him whenever u want. same with weird route. but save after doing everything when at castle town at paci. also keep in mind when aborting snowgrave u can go back and get the mannequin which can only be gotten when kris is with noelle if i remember correctly. also make sure to hack ur save for weapons and armour u cannot get in the game normally/at the end of chapter 2 as there's really no point NOT to. and finally we don't know if these saves will do anything for the main game. remember this is just a demo and chapter 1 and 2 could have changes and saves not working. so just remember that (btw the egg cannot be gotten on snowgrave but can be gotten when aborting it like the mannequin)

I name my first save my own name this is where I'm not doing anything special like snowgrave or pacifist. But I do make sure to have burdley brack his arm in the queen fight. 2. I named the Kris save. Is the standard pacifist route. If theirs a ultimate ending I want it to be what Kris really wants. 3. The Dess route. This has snowgrave and the only way to make snowgrave worth it in my eyes is if Dess is saved by breaking the game.

i love deltarune and would love to collect the crystals but i’m just not the best at the game like i can complete the chapters and have played through them multiple times but i just can’t beat the secret bosses.

Same. I've been trying to beat Jevil since he was first discovered and the same goes for Spamton. I still can't do it and it's honestly frustrating,especially with the idea that it'll lead to secrets and possibly a new route.

Never got an evil ending for these types of games. I'll leave it to the other monsters for that. Not in my save

Imagine if just like you ruin your pacifist run after doing geno, having a weird route save file will also ruin your pacifist run
