Oh my. I haven't had vertigo in a long time, but had an attack this week after a dentist visit. He tilted the chair back, worked a few minutes and then the room began to spin. When I left I had to hold on to things because I felt like I was on a ship in rough seas. I never had it happen at the dentist. I'm so glad I found your channel, thanks!

Hi Amy, just wondering if you know any reason why after one year of vestibular and vision therapy from concussions and BBBP, why I still get nauseous when I walk with a partner.
@treatdizzinessathome20234 ай бұрын
Have they tried binocular occlusion in vision therapy to see if that helps with that particular symptom? If youre not sure what it is just do a quick google search, its behind my scope of practice but I have seen it work in vision therapy. Or does the symptom reduce if you have more somatosensory input like using trekking poles which would indicate more need more grounding practices
@CoreenMacdonald4 ай бұрын
Hi Amy, I have not tried that but I have an appointment in two weeks so I will ask about that. The walking poles make it worse. It has been suggested to me that it maybe my central nervous system working on over drive.🙈Thank you for getting back to me.❤️

Hi Amy, is cholesterol itself a primary cause of things like PPPD or BPPV? Mine is something like 6.9 and it’s supposed to be between 4-4.5 apparently. The blow flow problem makes a lot of sense.
@treatdizzinessathome20234 ай бұрын
@@pct2025 hello! the Bppv or lack or blood flow to the ear that actually lead to symptoms. The high cholesterol can causes those 2 things to happen though. Does that help? 😀

@@treatdizzinessathome2023 I had an adverse reaction to anti inflammatory medication, took me a while but I diagnosed myself as having pppd. Then a few weeks ago I was working underneath a car and had intense vertigo. After that I had a positive dix-hallpike test, did the Epley myself (maybe incorrectly) as i still feel wonky now. I had a break of nearly 2 months where I had hardly any symptoms, but the vertigo put me back at square one again. Back to the original point, I think blood flow or cholesterol could be one of the main factors why I got pppd to begin with

What do you think of the half somersault maneuver? I would like to do the Semont plus but my neck is sensitive and can hurt sometimes
@treatdizzinessathome20234 ай бұрын
As long as you have the Nemo mobility, it can be a good option. And it’s just so interesting, because in all the certifications and courses I have attended they never talk about the maneuver. It’s really interesting because it’s popular on KZbin, but not used or advised often clinically.I just can say anecdotally that some patients do have success
