Hi and thank you for your question! In my experience yes cervicogenic dizziness can be rather constant. It might go away in bed but as soon as you’re upright, it can start giving you symptoms. Really the only way you know is if you start getting treated or doing Some of the stretches and mobility and it starts to decrease in intensity. Then you would know if there’s a circle with the component. Hopefully that’s helpful and cheers to do a better 2025! Let me know if I can help in any other way, and I really appreciate your support!😄

Oh, that’s a good question! I have only had a few people that get worse when working on the Neck but if that’s the case, you might want to look at Kinesio tape to reduce any inflammation in the base of the neck, Arnica and magnesium cream, or a provider can use cupping or light guasha Stone to start to move some of the inflammation that might be causing that excitability to touch.

I had BVVP 12 years ago, never had dizziness before. I could not provoke the dizziness myself when trying the maneuvers myself back then, but when my kiropraktor did the maneuver it worked. But I never got completly well after that, and I have been pretty dizzy more or less since then. I have okay balance when my eyes are open, but terrible when my eyes are closed. Now I think I got the BVVP again, since I get the episodes when i move my head where the whole room is spinning. Do the maneuvers work even if I cant provoke the spinning? Any idea why im dizzy even when the BVVP is cleard?

BPPV can come back. It’s estimated that 30% of people can get it back within the year of developing it. I see a lot of people that every few years they get BPPV. So definitely tune into my BPPV playlist and familiarize yourself with some of the test & maneuvers. You should always go to a vestibular therapist who is trained and not just dabbles in treatment for a thorough assessment to help you rule in or rule out BPPV as the cause. It could be Neck, It could be the crystals. It could be a couple other reasons.

I would say it depends on how long those sensations last and if it’s increasing in frequency. As we age, we get more sensitive to things that wouldn’t bother us as kids because we’re stimulating the vestibular system so often. For example, if you got on a merry-go-round today, you would be dizzy and feel like you’re moving because you don’t do that very often or the same for a swing. But if you practice And start to exposing the ear to those particular movements, your symptoms will likely go away. Feel free to send me an email at [email protected]. And that can remind me to do a video on some particular exercise exercises that might be useful. 🙂

❤❤ this is worth a shot I guess. About 5 years ago got the flu and a nasty ear infections. Developed very bad imbalance issues. Take the room time to catch up when turning head. Ringing and humming in the ear for about two years and migraines as well. Fortunately the ringing and humming have subsided. Daily I still have a feeling of the floor bouncing under my feet, and just very off balance wise. Like on a boat and just can’t stabilize a lot of the time. I do have times of relief from it but not as much as one would hold and it always comes back so to speak. It’s a tough thing to deal with and not sure how to address it. @ when I had my first two hearing assessments done the technician asked if I was in the military because the level of damage done to my hearing as akin to persons exposed to regular explosives! Though my left ear is the affected side I have significant hearing loss on my right side. I was never in the military nor exposed to explosives or their shock waves. I learned that my hearing loss is permanent. I wear hearing aids now. I was diagnosed with Minere’s in 2021 just after my attacks began. Back then they lasted about 20 minutes but grew more intense and started lasting hours with extreme nausea accompanying them. Though I have been on a low sodium, caffeine and alcohol free diet I have an attack every six to ten days. While the vertigo doesn’t seem as intense anymore it lasts about four to five hours but the intense nausea keeps me bed bound for an additional five to seven hours. I have to sleep in an almost sitting position during and after an attack as my head feels like it isn’t attached to my body and it’s really hard to find a comfortable position. The next day I feel as if nothing happened and I look forward to my next few attack free days. Then my senses are heightened when an attack is due and I’m filled with dread once more.

@@jillradovanovic3460 if you’re still feeling that it’s sensory overload I would suggest using modifications. For example, using AirPods or ear loops to decrease auditory stimulation, a hat to block fluorescent light and possibly even sunglasses. Decreasing the amount of sensory information that your brain has to process can overtime allow you to feel more comfortable in the store and then you can wean from those sensory modifications. Let me know if that makes sense. 🙂

Thank you for your videos! I got better with vrt but I still struggle in daily life.. my physio gave me exercises to do at home but I don’t understand one thing, when I do them more than dizzy I get mentally exhausted.. like when I move my head neck and eyes.. do you know why I get this extreme fatigue? After doing those I have to nap

I think you could be doing too much for your body. Can you do one exercise at a time? And wait 30-60 minutes before the next? Thank you so much for your comment 🙂

@ thank you for your answer! Yeah I just do 10 reps and then rest! But the thing I don’t understand is why more dizziness I get this immense fatigue when moving my neck and head or when I do some eye exercise! Is this normal? Because usually I read people get dizzy and not fatigued

@ yeah I definitely have but it’s after 20 to 30 minutes of exercise not just one exercise. My analogy is it’s kind of like flying a plane on one engine, if you have one functioning vestibular system, you can still have balance. You just don’t go very far- you don’t tolerate a lot. The other hypothesis is in the neck. You do have an autonomic nervous system nerves/ganglia in the upper cervical spine . That can control some of your responses like dizziness, nausea her palpitations get clamminess. It kind of tells us that something is wrong, and with that response, you can get an adrenaline rush per se, and that can make you feel tired. That’s me completely hypothesizing about the fighter flight response. Everybody’s response is going to be different. It just seems like just tolerating one exercise and then needing to nap or having extreme fatigue is quite the reaction. Functional medicine or vagal nerve work, including diaphragmatic breathing might be your best route of exercise at this point and then work on very functional tasks like getting back to a store or tolerating reading or action television, etc. Did your Physio have a thought for you?

@ thank you very much for your answer! It just makes me wonder why I do get this mental fatigue when I move my neck and head.. I have 2 physio, one of them said that’s unusual but the other one told me that the reason could be the brain struggling to interpret the signals from my vestibular system.. she told me to keep doing the exercises and like you said to add some deep breathing exercises.. before vrt I was bedridden, now I can do more things but the main problem is this mental fatigue that keeps stopping me.. I’m pacing my activities.. do you think some massages with an osteopath could help this neck and head issue? Thank you again

@ a lot of my patients develop cervicogenic vertigo with their dizziness. So definitely give a massage a try if you have not already. I personally focus a lot on the suboccipital area when working with my patients.

Hello Amy, checking back in with you. Again thank you for your amazing service and selfless passion to help people. After an intense and horrific bout of vertigo, and following your advice I am 85-90% better. I saw ENT who gave me 5 day prednisone and a diuretic. I am done with steroids that didn’t really help much. Still taking the diuretic per Dr advise. I am now diagnosing myself as PPPD as I feel overwhelmed in busy situations and when asleep. I feel I am floating in the space. My brain feel’s foggy and preoccupied during the day. I already have hypothyroidism and take Synthroid so the new fog is from post vertigo and not hypothyroidism. We go on a cruise on 12/26/24😅. Will really be feeling double floating 🤦‍♀️

Hi, VOR1 How many bpm on finish ??
@treatdizzinessathome2023
@treatdizzinessathome2023 16 күн бұрын
240 bpm or you can do 120 but make sure you get back to the same side by the time the next beep comes. Hopefully that makes sense! Coordination wise. I like to move my head with every beat so I pick 240. But it’s the same tempo- so much controversy with the bpm and how people describe it. The main thing is move as quickly as possible with keeping the clear or just on the edge of blurring ☺️
