*My daughter drinks lots of water and urinates with the same rate, there are no other symptoms to show if those have anything to do with diabetes. This is a good information that I have gone through **Diabets.Care** She is 2 years 9 months, hale and healthy, have not done any blood test. But I am not certain if one can get diabetes at such a tender age. Please I will like to know more on that*

At just 3 years old and no other symptoms your daughter may be just fine but if there is some reason you suspect type 1 ask her pediatrician to test for it.

How I landed here, on your channel now isn't important. I'm 67 diagnosed type2 diabetic 1999, on trulicity tresiba, and novolog at present, Of course I've got the full course of diabetic comas, neurological problems etc. Finally enough is enough I stopped the trulicity. O7 2 wks ago, lowered the tresiba from 36 daily to 10, and at present taking 10 units of novolog 4xs daily with suppelements insulin plant ( capsules 6 am 6 pm and gynema gynema tsp powder) no carbs veggies and beginning a keto lifestyle. I probably drink close to gallon of h2o daily, and working a excersise routine. I was just on a trail of slow death. Before I've got eyes to see life now.

I am the 56-y-o patient he's talking about, and I'm a PA (initially, orthopedic surgery but later infectious disease). For years, they would only draw a fasting blood sugar on me, and I slowly watched it rise from a 72 to 105. And even at 105, they only wanted to talk about my mildly elevated cholesterol and put me on a statin (which I had a severe reaction to). When the newborn weights of our children trended up from 7 lb 8 oz to 9 lb 9 oz to 10 lb 10 oz (with that third child having a crashing neonatal blood glucose in the hospital) and I thought I was seeing a crystalline film on the toilet water after urinating, I was still told that because my glucose tolerance test had been negative, that I was perfectly fine. After years of becoming more and more obese while trying to live on whole grains and starchy vegetables, with an ever-increasing abdominal circumference, I started to suspect my excessive thirst/urination, peripheral neuropathy, digestive issues, blurry vision, fatigue, and skin changes weren't entirely from my Sjogren's Syndrome. So when the neuropathy in my feet suddenly changed in character and severity, I demanded a non-fasting sugar be done along with an A1C. And no surprise to me, my non-fasting sugar was 240 with an A1C of 7.9%. I went into crisis mode since I didn't want to travel the route of organ failure and amputations, and after diving down the rabbit hole of evidence-based dietary advice, decided to give a low-carb lifestyle (with an 8-hour eating window) a try, which went against the old medical nutritional dogma I'd been indoctrinated with for years. The results were shocking when I eliminated sugar/sucrose, grains, and the starchy vegetables from my diet. Within a week, a digestive issue I'd had for more than 15 years, which kept me out of restaurants, had virtually disappeared. Within a couple of weeks, after some experimentation, I went from post-meal sugars in the 230s/240s to being in the 120s or lower after huge meals of chicken, parmesan, marinara, mushrooms, onions, and broccoli. And in the first 10 weeks alone, I lost 37# with virtually no exercise. Everything from mental clarity to my skin improved. Now, I'm just pissed that we've been lied to for decades with the dietary guidelines, and as a result, I'll be living with the physical toll for the rest of my life.

Im 58 now, 3 years ago I started feeling “off”. Just didn’t feel great anymore. Had a pain in my shoulder area thought it was my gallbladder. A pain in my lower back thought my kidneys. Got heartburn and hiccups after eating when I never had before. My outer thighs were burning, was I having a reaction to my laundry soap, hadn’t changed that. Then I couldn’t keep food down. I’d get sick about an hour after eating. Lost weight, which was a good thing, just not in a good way. So after about 6 weeks of this I went to the doctor. Had several tests done. Yep gallstones. No kidney problem. Then she asked if I fasted. I thought oh no! My A1C was 14.7. Diabetes runs on my moms side. She and both her parents were diabetic. I thought I was eating healthy enough. Always room to improve. I have a physically active job. Im working on my lifestyle and diet change. I walk with my dogs still have a physically active job and my A1C is lower, which I’m really happy about. I need to do something else, but what? I really like my doctor. She has allowed me to work on my fix without taking insulin shots which I really want to avoid. Im worried after watching this that I will never get to an A1C in the 5s. I was just hoping to get in the 6s. Im at 7.4 now. I am trying to educate myself on this subject since I am one of those diabetics. Oh and I didn’t mention that this past year has been the most horrible stressful year of my life! Wish me luck and please keep the information coming. It’s so VERY helpful. Happy New Year!

Intermitting fasting. First start by skipping breakfast. Have coffee and if you have to eat, eat something like a avocado . If you really want heal/prevent this than go on a 48-72 fast. Only drink water with a pinch of salt in your water for 2-3 days. Black coffee is ok. Then you need to go on low carb diet. Remove all breads, rice from your diet. I serving of any rice or bread is almost 40grams of Carbs. A tablespoon of honey is 20grams of Crabs. These carbs get turned into sugars and then into fat . You can skinny and be diabetic if your diet is mostly carbs. I was pre diabetic but it went away after i started to do the above.

I’ve had a “boarder line” HA1C of approximately 5.8 for years along with a diagnosis of Peripheral Neuropathy. But several doctors struggle with might be causing the burning pain and numbness... I only took glucophage, but I have had family members who had amputations and death earlier from their diabetes. I haven't been diabetic for years and I owe it all to you. My regular doctors told me that I would have it for the rest of my life. Thanks for your information!

I continued gaining weight....continued eating whatever, whenever. I work out 4-6 times a week. I gained another 25 lbs in this last year. Thru working out. He attributed it to hormones & weight training. My BP & pulse elevated very high. Finally my GP ordered a full panel. Boom! Type 2 diabetes & Hachimoto Thyroid Disease. I took Metformin for 2 days. I saw one of Dr Jason Fung's videos on Intermittent fasting, which led me to Dr Berry & Ketogenic diets and intermittent fasting together. I never took any more Metformin. I've lost 70lbs since in the last year and my A1C has gone from 6.3-5.1. I simply refuse to be diabetic if I can stop it with a proper diet and YES, I can stop it with a proper diet.. Today was Thanksgiving 2020. I watched some extremely, I mean hugely overweight people in their 50's stuff their faces with mashed potatoes, stuffing, Mac n Cheese, Bread and finally a couple pieces of chocolate and pecan pie. One of them is even diabetic and on insulin injections. There he was talking about how fat his wife is and that she needs to lose weight as he eating Ms Edwards Chocolate cream pie. It's just completely nonsensical to me at this point. I ate Turkey, Ham, Deviled eggs and salad. It was interesting that I didn't find much of the other stuff all that appealing, although I wanted some of that pie too. LOL

I’ve spent so much money on supplements to take sway the severe leg cramps I’ve had for over 10 years but the minute I started having fruit in the morning, along with my keto diet , it instantly took away the nocturnal leg cramps, and gave me normal BMs...I started sleeping through the night. I’ve been so sleep deprived for years cause of the cramps... when I Started keto in 2017, taking out all fruit and carbs, the leg cramps got worse. So I do keto friendly fruits now and took out all dairy products like hard cheeses, sliced cheeses, heavy cream and replaced it with coconut milk, nutritional yeast, greens, and very little parmesan grated cheese every once in a while...all my chronic inflammation went away along with the leg cramps . The fruit gave me unbelievable energy , which I didn’t have doing the keto / carnivore diet I feel like I’ve gotten my body back... still keeping my carbs under 50 grams... the things keto cleared up for me have been pre diabetes...gone in four months it went down from 6.3 to 5.1 according to my last A1C test. No more dry, cracked, bleeding heels, the skin is as smooth as baby skin . I just think my body heals faster in general...my hair is not so dry anymore... I have cut out all man made carbs, all sugar, and grains, but I do have fruits like blueberries, or blackberries, and avocados, strawberries, watermelon and tangerines in moderation, these are the keto fruits I choose from... It’s nice to be able to sleep through the night without the severe leg cramps, and it’s great that I’m now able to workout again because my legs are no longer hurting and sore. I test my sugar in the morning since I’ve been doing fruit, and my blood test are 90. . Anything from 75 to 100 your blood sugar is safe. I’ve kept 25 of the 34 pounds I lost doing keto, so close to my goal weight of 130. So, I figured out how to lose the weight with including the fruit.. That was tricky at first but it’s doable because of the workouts..So happy I found what works for me . And no more hundreds of dollars spent on supplements trying to get rid of the cramps, and sleep aids are gone . So great . I’ll be keto for life. Thank you for all you guys are doing to get the word out. Keto works.!!

I never got "officially diagnosed" as diabetic (2016) until I'd been "prediabetic" for 11 years (2005-2016)

Dr Ken, keep up the great work. My doctor however advised me to continue on keto when I told her i just started keto diet on my first diagnosis of being diabetic. I thank God she was smart enough not to put me on any medication. You teaching has taken me off the so called ' genetic diabetic' lane . God bless you richly.

Today, I had labs drawn that Dr Berry suggested on his videos to determine if I have Hoshimotos or Thyroid issues. I will know in 7 days. Thanks for all your tips on previous videos and this one.

Dr. Berry! So glad I found this! My husband & I at 64 years old for me & 60 years for him have decided to Eat healthy & go KETO. I gave up Sugar first &?in a month have lost 10#! I bought the Vitamins & minerals you recommended & we started in those. 😁So we scheduled our physicals & wanted blood tests for Vitamins & Minerals. And then when we start KETO in May we can go about 3 months & get our tests done again to see how we are doing.👍🏼 Well my nurse practitioner said “Sure” & ordered those right up. But when I told my Husband’s physician that the next day, she reacted visibly shocked! And said we don’t normally do that because you have to pay out of pocket for that. I was so surprised. Why doesn’t the insurance companies not pay for that?! It’s absurd. We said we would pay & got our tests. 🙄

I have prediabetes so I am following the advise to reverse it. You are correct about Doctors that don't know what they are doing to a point. Talk about frustration no wonder people give up and eat whatever, but I will stay on the Keto and follow your advise. Thank you.
