Ozempic is an appetite suppressant though, so saying we go back to old habits is not always the case. I suffer from thyroid disease and hormonal imbalance. For 10 years no matter what diet I tried or exercise NOTHING helped me lose weight until I started Ozempic. I don't eat junk food, I don't drink soda, I do workout but I know once I stop Ozempic the weight will come back not because I'm gonna start stuffing myself but because my sugar won't be regulated anymore, I won't feel full anymore and my appetite will come back. So none of these weight loss tools work longterm unless the person stays on them. I will continue with a maintenance dose bcuz I can't maintain my weight without this.

Exactly! I am just like you. Obesity is not a disease of fork mouth. It’s a brain gut disorder. Your brain recognizes your bodies set point and defends the weight that you are at. Once obese and obese for long, long term medication maybe needed.

Please consider adding miralax to your drink each day. The FDA has added warnings of intestinal blockages and my daughter ended up in the emergency room because of this. You want to keep things flowing out of your intestines or do a cleanse once per week. Sending you hugs. I know the struggles ❤

I'm in the same club I've had Hypothyroidism since age 15 and I'm now 70 years old. I started Ozempic at the end of August 2023. I've never had my dosage increased. I just weighed myself and I'm with in 28 pounds of my goal weight I'm down 40 pounds. I started doing something research trying to figure out what I'm going to do next. I'm living with my relatives in the South and they eat differently than I do. I'm moving soon and will go back to intermittent fasting 16/8. When I find things on KZbin I usually write it down so I know where I found the information but l forgot this time. I Googled what health supplements would help me loose and maintain weight loss like Ozempic. This is what I plan to use: Berberine you want around 1000mg, Turmeric with black pepper 2000mg per day, Trace Mineral drops in your water with electrolytes (20) drops, L-Tryptophan 250mg 45 minutes before bed helps with stress and sleeping, they suggest a digestive enzyme and a probiotic, B-Complex (you need B-1,B-12,& B9, potassium & magnesium 1000mg, potassium citrate. I will add (Walmart Spring Valley Apple cider vinegar 500mg gummies) which I'm using now and I like them). I did but a Wyze Smart Scale which I love. I hope this helps someone.

I forgot to say I use "Pure Grass Fed Hydrolyzed Bone Broth+ Collagen Protein contains collagen types 1,2,&3. It has a dark green label if you Google this name. You can't buy this in the store. This helps burn body fat which I'm really focused on.

I had my first dose, no nausea or usual side effects that are listed. I felt tired/ sleepy, calm, spacey feeling, not as alert. I have not been thinking of food like I always do, food is not interesting, I don't feel full but I don't feel hungry. When I do remember to eat, it is not pleasurable and a few bites is enough. I'm on day 3 after shot, not sure what the next 4 days will be like. After looking up side effects, mine seam to be of low blood sugar, I guess this is what I needed to feel calmer about food and eating. Great video, thank you for the tips.

My tip is to incorporate foods with a low calorie density into your diet, i.e. foods with a large volume for calories they contain. My choices include a lot of oats, root vegetables, lentils and beans, and chia or flax seeds for their soluble fiber. And I am cautious about foods with a high calories density, in particular oils, breads, chocolate and sugar. I still have some of those but I'm very conscious of portion sizes when I do.

I don't like this narrative that it's about lack of control I gained 15 lbs back in one week after stopping Mounjaro I know I didn't eat that much in a week there is something that happens where the weight comes back on like nutty professor it was not in my control everyday the scale went up

Same..I too stopped mounjaro and have been gaining weight back at a speed that doesn't makes sense when I'm not eating bad. People are quick to say it's because you go back to old habits but that's not true for everyone. I just knew it had to be more than that. But thanks to a couple comments I have a better explanation. Which is that not eating while on mounjaro lowers your metabolism and also makes lose muscle which also affects your metabolism. When stopping mounjaro, you go back to eating more and even if still eating healthy, your metabolism is so low it stores more fat from whatever your eating. This makes more sense if it's true. What's not always true is you go back to old habits cause not everyone does yet they still gain.

I am debating whether to stop Ozempic because I’m working out five or six days a week. I don’t want that weight game. Someone please advise me.

When a doctor who you would think understands the chemistry of these types of medicines and how they make those of us who do not react with insulin the way we should, with their use then react in the way we should, then turn around to give us the " eat slower, eat less , excercise more" advise, is maddening. How about acknowledging people who need this will need this for the rest of their lives. After all that's been learned about regain, stop it, just stop it.m

I can not afford to be on this medication for life. It is costing me $1,300 a month for the medication alone. Yes it is helping with felling in balance and controlled around food but it also has side effects.

Most people can't afford to be on this medication for life. Additionally, people who use this medication usually got on it to poor lifestyle habits that built up over time. A majority of the people who have type 2 diabetes and are/or overweight had poor lifestyle habits and emotional eating problems. By first addressing those, then everything else can be dealt with (insulin resistance, leptin resistance, obesity-related chronic low-grade inflammation, gut imbalances, etc.).

I just stop taking Victoza after six years and I am freaking out. Why do people gain their weight back.? Is it physiological or is it just bad habits please please I hope there’s a way you can respond to me to let me know the answer to this I have a good eating habits, but if it’s physiological, then I’m in trouble. Loved your video you have given me hope 5 o’clock on February 28

Hi Shelley, understand your fear weight is difficult for many people and is usually a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Can't change your genes unfortunately but if you continue to work on your environment you can definitely achieve your goals. Don't give up!

It is your hormones. Insulin in particular. You need to lower your insulin levels so it resets your body set point weight

People usually gain weight back because their metabolism got so low while on the medication (usually from the lack of appetite). When they go back to eating normally again, some of the food gets converted into fat because their body is working with a low metabolic rate. Plus, hormones like Leptin got severely lowered to the point it created this starvation response in the body where incoming food gets stored as fat. Also, you tend to lose muscle mass while on these medications (which is important for maintaining and raising the metabolism). Eating quality protein with every meal and getting some exercise can help. A nutritionist/dietitian may put you on a "reverse diet" plan... for example, they start you off with 1200 calories (this is considered the bare minimum for adults) that's high in protein, moderate in fibrous carbs, moderate in healthy fat, then after two weeks or so, up your calories by 50 or 100 until a few weeks or months later you're eating 1,600 calories or more. They would probably also recommend exercise too (especially weight training), because it raises your metabolism. I'm not a doctor, but I've done extensive research over the past few years and wrote a book about all this... so I know a thing or two lol.... but obviously, you would have to research this in partnership with your doctor who can analyze your specific needs. But generally, most of these weight loss medications make you lose your appetite, your metabolism gets shot, and trying to go back to eating normally again leads to weight gain because of the lower metabolism.

Well I am frustrated! I started Zepbound the one with two hormones. I used it and lost 15 pounds and was doing great! On 5 mg and wanted to titrate to 7.5 mg but can’t find it at all, tried to get it from several places and my express scripts. Being in tricare u don’t have to many choices to try. So doc gave Rx for wegovy! Great maybe I can’t get it before I am out.. had two pins of the zepbound left Express said it would be covered.. it is now a week after I took the last zepbound pen and still have not gotten it. Called they said the PA was denied called doctor they tried again then express said processing it will be there, then checked it said it stopped and had to get ahold of them again. They said doctor needs to say I I tried contrave and yes o did so had to give the dates then they said it will be sent, then it wasn’t. Asks y now? Oh we wanted to ask doctor if this is the strength he wanted u to use. It isn’t the lowest does.. yes it is the right does it equals 7.5mg of the zepbound.. if we will send it then.. now it says processing still have not sent it yet.. ugh wth.. I am now one week passed the due date to get a shot and I am trying to hard not to eat terrible and to eat slowly. I eat protein at every meal I exercise and lift weights. Still I can feel the weight creeping back. Already!! It’s like the medication actually does give your body the hormone that seems to be missing. I Hope wegovy is as good for me as the zepbound was. And I hope I get it soon!
