@@TaylorExchange alright after looking at this closer I have decided to just order the sequential numbers off of Amazon for the time being. The numbers go up to 10,000 and so it will take me quite a while to get to that number in the 2 different primary categories that I sell in. I just have an ink printer for the time being, and purchasing a Rollo at the moment is not going to be feasible. I will eventually be using your system exactly how you have it set up in this video at some point though, and so I will keep your video here fresh in my mind for future use at some point. Anyway Sean, I appreciate your content. It's pretty straight forward, and easy to understand.

Just got a Rollo. Your video is what I needed. When you started printing it looked like you used the original fold backwards. If you use the fold as it was originally, you should be able to just let it refold on the floor (checking to make sure it is neat of course). Great video. Setting mine up now...

Thanks for this video, very helpful! I ran into an issue and thought I'd share in case it helps anyone else. I'm using the USB Rollo with wireless adapter which didn't allow me to change the paper size when printing so it was skipping every 5 labels (presumably bc it thought it was printing to 4x6). Workaround was to connect the printer directly using USB and then I was able to select the custom paper size in Printing Preferences from the USB printer and all worked well.

Wouldn't it be easier to print as you go with some kind of a simple plugin on your website that keeps track of the last serial number printed so all you need to do is click "print serial number labels" every time you need one, or select a number and click print if you need five or six?

Here is a bigger question for you that I’ve not heard the answer to from other sellers: When you have all of these SKUs do you ever reuse them in the future? If you reuse them how do you know which ones to reuse without constantly checking? It would also make printing them a bit of a pain. If you don’t reuse them and you consolidate your bins of clothing or other items then are you getting bins that are like: 1, 2, 18, 39, 40, 41, 72, 74, 80, 86, 87? I’m guessing it might be difficult to know what bin to even check for the item over time because the bins will have large gaps in the SKU numbers over time? I hope this makes sense

Yes it makes sense. Simple answer and best method I've found is to not reuse any number. About once every 2 months I consolidate all the items. This consolidation take me about 4 hours solo or 2.5 hours with a helper.

Have you considered making each box an alphabet letter and having your labels say a1, a2 etc and as that box becomes empty with sales you continue on the count say a40, a41 and so forth. The same for box B. So you don’t have to reshuffle your entire inventory from box to box? Just a thought

I sell vintage items and as I'm getting into 8000 I'm finding that I only have 20, 40, 80, etc remaining items in the 100's 1000's 2000's range and I've been considering renumbering those and starting over instead of bumping up to the 10,000's when the time comes

I found the solution to the crazy printing issue.. lol. It's actually really simple, first you print in reverse! Rollo has this feature you just have to go into control settings, word also has the setting so you can also just do it there. Then you get a cheap lint roller for a few bucks, and roll around it by hand the first 50 or so until it grips nicely, after that you can just spin the lint wheel and you will be able to roll it up even faster than it prints.. I'm actually just keeping it on the flint roller after that and taping it near the photo booth so I just roll it out for each new label as they are photographed. You may want to get smaller labels though as it might be harder to spin fast but no big deal.

I saw a label rewinder on amazon for $75.... also... wouldn't avery laser labels be cheaper int he long run? heat sensitive labels are more expensive.... also they can yellow and fade over time

I may need to look into that rewinder. I’m not sure if it’s cheaper with Avery. But I run a 5,000 item store with about half selling every 90 days. I have not had any issue with yellowing.

@@TaylorExchange when I say "Avery" i mean knock off avery labels, lol - also because you sell out your stuff quickly you don't notice the fade... Rollo and dymo labels are like fax paper, they are thermal, fade over time and get less dark, also high heat can blacken them

That’s not a terrible idea. A bit easier to control when they are rolled and it sits on the end of a clamp that is attached to the photo set up.

why don't you add barcodes to them? There are easier programs out there to make labels with sequential numbers, and barcodes etc....

I think Avery has a very user friendly way to make them. Not sure what benefit barcodes would be on these items.
