How To Pronounce TH In English

One of the trickiest sounds in English, the TH is explained with a few useful examples and techniques you can practice right away!

Thank you Reuben.Believe it or not i.m an English speaker who struggles with this sound.I came to realise when studying biblical hebrew.When the names Ruth etc which should have come natural to me,did not.I was even tempted to go with modern hebrew but that just would have been a cop out ! Mirror mirror, who pronounces "th" sounds the best?

If your langauge has the f and v sounds (this may not work in most dialects of Spanish) pronounce them and then move your tongue from where it place it between your teeth. Once it is there, pronounce the f or the v, but with your tongue in the new position. By the way, some native speakers pronounce thanks with a voice dental fricative (or a sound that sounds pretty close to it).

I'm an English speaking fellow American, I'm not sure why I'm watching! I never *th*ought about *th*is sound before! (I know people have trouble saying "ts" in Hebrew and English, but I didn't realize *th*at "th" was difficult).
