It seems that this would negatively impact the grip if tge rod handle. Is the resulting handke more slippery?

When it comes the looks i love cork but i found out that cork easily damage. Hoping that fishing rod company makes a cork-like eva foam grips or cork rubber design. I think this is better than pure cork material.

I work at a wood shop and I had some leftover polyurethane that I use on doors some top shelf stuff worked pretty good on my fishing rods

You should encase the cork with carbon graphite so you don't ever touch the cork.
