Makes a lot more sense when a video is more than “getting there”, but shows HOW to get there. Many thanks

What I like about this video is that you have been honest and went straight to the point, that it took you a whole to master the muscle up...and that is all about explosiveness. Please forget about all those bullshit videos, that you can get the muscle up in two weeks and all those bunch of lies, that keep people frustrated....I´m trying hard to achieve it.....Thanks for your advise and help!

Amen. Too many advanced calisthenics youtubers make 'how to..' videos, but seem to forget that it's much easier for them : e.g. 'you get to performing high pullups by doing 15 clapping pullups' ;-)

Great video. Your prescribed workout programming was well explained. I definitely will be adding these explosive pulls to my regime.

It all depends on your goals and what you're trying to 'progress.' If you're trying to build muscle, it'll be effective until it becomes too easy. Additionally, if your goal is strength, you will become adept at those specific exercises you are doing. In this case, the pull up and push up. I'm going to assume you are talking about muscle and strength. As I mentioned before, it's about workout intensity and difficulty. It's fine to do those exercises and reps, but once it becomes relatively easy for you, you will only become more proficient at those exercises. Muscle hypertrophy will be a challenge. Not until you change up your routine by making the session more intense which will require more effort from you. My advice, it's okay to do that for a month or two. But after awhile, actually look into programming exercises together to stimulate muscle hypertrophy. You may look at super setting exercises, changing up the tempo of your exercises and the obvious one, increasing the external resistance through a vest or plates. Hope this helps.

Hey bud..great videos..i check in and out for tips each time..just wanted to ask..how long did it take you to train for your very first muscle up? And how much longer did you train to make it look so effortless?like you just doing a normal pullup?
@JamesSaOfficial5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question brother. For my very first muscle up attempt I barely completed it (in a ugly fashion). From then, I did a lot of high pull up and muscle up training consisting of negatives and close high pull ups. I did that for the next year or two and I've been doing muscle ups since then. Also if it helps, I trained pull twice, ensuring I did high pull up training at least once.

Muscle up is easier

Muscle Up is a explosive pull up combined with an explosive dip, which means that the more explosive your pull ups are, the easier the Muscle Up is. The problem with Muscle Ups is that people try to do it without unlocking their pull up strenght which is way they rely on momentum so much.

Nice video. Presentation is pretty good. Just some advice. Be mindful of which direction the light is shining. Might help to invest in a quality mic sound quality is important. Also, video colors could be improved. Some cinematic b-roll footage and music added goes a long way too, for entertainment purposes. But this channel has potential. Good job

Thanks for the comment and feedback! Thankfully we have been making steady improvements in our production quality. Since this video is pretty old, you can drastically see the difference in both sound and video quality from then, in comparison to our recent videos. Glad you enjoyed the video!
