Fantastic breakdown. This really helps with a character like Ryu who needs to use all the tools he can to be formidable. I do have a video request if you ever get the chance, particularly for us Ryu players, and the request is this: Can you do a video, explaining with your best intentions and observations of SFV, WHY Capcom intends to make Ryu as low of a character as he is? Meaning, forgetting about the insults and bashing of the Ryu character, but getting into an actual analysis of why Capcom makes him this way in a game that is severely dishonest. I understand Ryu is a gateway character where he has all the basic skills, but hes not great at anything, and even though I think hes a good character with great potential, hes obviously limited compared to most of the cast in outright shenanigans and set ups. So again, if you could a thorough breakdown on WHY you feel Capcom made him this way, and why you feel they decided to KEEP him this way, and not really buff him to a point where hes overall a competitive character in this iteration of the game, I would really appreciate it. You seem to have a good way of explaining things, and it would help me, and many others, try to figure out this conundrum of why Ryu is designed the way he is in this game, especially being the main character of the series.

Outlaw 2 maybe to increase sales for other characters and their costumes etc. If they make the posterboy better, most people would pick ryu and not bother buying other chars or their costumes etc. I suspect thats its a business move

I thought about that as well, but honestly I don't think capcom is pushing DLC characters like that. If anything DLC characters are usually underpowered when they get released, or at least people THINK they're weak initially. Cammy is on top of the tier list atm, so that also doesn't line up with that idea either.

MDZ jimmY i've just accepted the fact that capcom, for the last few years of SFV, have had no real solid plan, no idea of where they wanted the game to go. no well thought out plan for how to construct a game that has a lifecycle of around 5+ years. Which should start off as a great great game and consistently get better throuh its years. It's the only thing that makes sense with all the weird moves capcoms been makimg. Maybe not everything has been as well thought out as we would expect (as consumers). The weird thing is only capcoms FG department has been having these issues (seemingly). Im sure what we have been witnessing for the past few years has been the fruits of a lack of resources in every sense to this game and the FG department as a whole. Again, because its not just strange game development moves capcom has been making but solely business ones too
@mdz_jimmy6 жыл бұрын
I agree to the point that capcom seems clueless when it comes to addressing issues the community has with the game and it seems to me that this is the result of a very fixed roadmap for SFV with no budget to fix issues. When it comes to content for SFV, Capcom is doing a good job adding expected content and a few surprises along the way but they're just completely ignoring issues with the game. So I think the problem is that capcom is sticking to their plan too much and not so much that there is no plan in the first place. Capcom has less issues with other titles because the main focus of those titles isn't competitive play. Every game that is marketed for esports has these issues, even when there's a big budget behind it.

After spending some time in training mode, I was able to nail this, even tho I'm a U.Gold player and not even a Ryu main. I understand this is a advanced technique, but once you figure out the timing, it's fairly easy. You should do a tutorial talking about the timing, Jimmy. Great video tho.

Hey Jimmy, do you use a single button for parry or do you input mp+mk buttons?
@mdz_jimmy5 жыл бұрын
I don't use any "single button" that does multiple things. so for the parry I use 2 fingers to press both mp + mk, I do the same for EX moves.
@limanovember84355 жыл бұрын
@@mdz_jimmy Thanks Jimmy. I play like you. I was referring to the extra two buttons on most pads/sticks which you can map a certain button combo like vskill, vtrigger, ppp,kkk, throw etc.

@@limanovember8435 yeah when I used to be a pad player back in 2012 I did EX moves with the triple shoulder buttons on my ps3 pad.
