I've just been messing about in training mode and found that you can substitute parry for throw :)

Yes but couldn't you get a combo off of it and do much more dmg instead? Well throw is an option but combos should be more optimized

I wonder if that tech could work with Abigail's parry, i don't know the frames differences between Ryu/Abigail parry but it might work the same way, could somebody test that up ?

While blocking an attack you do it by pressing ➡ + triple punch (some characters do it with ➡ + triple kick)

I explained this in the video. The parry after the light kick is the one that activates in case the opponent tries to v-reversal the second medium punch.

@@mdz_jimmy My brother installed the game. So i did too so i could play with him. I f8nally decided to give this game a chance. And i finally understood the mechanics of it. I didnt like the vtrigger system at first. But i get that it prevent from spamming stronger moves and gives more oomf to your skill. And use as a power creep to comeback in a round. Still not perfect but enjoyable. I just need to practice an unhealthy amount of hours to get real good at it as i was in earlier fighting game. Lol

Thank you for this! I've been trying this and its 5050, sometimes i get hit by the v reversal when i do the parry. Do you do the second medium punch immediately after the first? Or do you delay it a bit.

depends on the v-reversal timing. if you do the second medium punch immediately after the first one then you cannot cover a delayed v-reversal.

Im still curious though jimmy how do you know when to use this at the perfect moment. How do you know when someone is about to v reverse you? Is it a reflexive instinct? Or do you train your opponent to v reverse a specific attack and then counter their v reverse with a parry? I see you pull this trick off a thousand times and im still dumbfounded as to how you pull this off so smoothly every time without fail.

I don't ever know whether my opponent will vreversal or not and the point of the "auto parry" is eliminate the guessing entirely. I simply hide the parry input in every single string that I use and it auto triggers if the opponent happens to vreversal.

timing is key, it just requires very precise timing so as long as your input is right you'll get it eventually.

for myself i go through it with lights.since some chars from the cast have fast startup v-reversals.

yup, I usually do it with cr.lp :) chars with fast vreversals: chun-li, zangief, ken, young & old zeku.

doesn't need to be plinked, just very fast. sometimes you even get plinked inputs and that will work as well.

yes this still works the same way in season 4 and I never react to v-reversals: I always OS them.

probably bad timing that's the most common mistake. make sure to keep inputs on to spot bad inputs on your end. not sure what else to say... everything is explained in the video but timing is pretty strict so it's gonna take some practice.

his normals cancel into vskill so no unfortunately it doesn't work the same way. I haven't tested this myself but maybe it's possible to do a very late vskill after a normal so it won't activate the cancel.

The game itself is nice so far, but the netcode really has some issues, i have to agree. It got a tiny little better since the release till now, but considering that it released in early 2016, this is a bit dissapointing. It definitely takes some of the enjoyment from the game for that reason, but it still brings me back playing it from time to time.
