I think, six or more weeks before my update period expires on my Elite I'm going to lessen my chance of any Sheng-hai-nigans and software glitches and just perform a factory reset to my MaxiSys Elite and Re-download all the car software fresh except the Chinese makes and turn off the WIFI to the unit afterwards once and for all and make do without the browser . With all the past system optimizing updates it seems to require a boot up of 4 separate steps of displaying the MaxiSys Elite letter head before it is booted up. When I first got it ,I thought it might have only booted in 2 steps. I don't like that so many of the update explanation is just "Optimized Function Menu" and if you forget and leave it turned off in sleep mode it still makes creepy sounds like Sleepy Joe turned on the camera or something. I will likely just update my IM508 to get by with the SGM equipped FCA vehicles afterwards.

Hi Curtis. Can i leave the IM608 update for example, for 2 years, and then get an update to bring the unit fully up to date, rather than continuously updating which is expensive for just doing the few jobs i do as a sole trader?... Great videos. Thanks

That price for updates it's the reason why I wont buy 608 but 508

I agree .I still didn't recoup my initial investment for my IM 508 with XP400 key programming ability of vehicles that my Maxi Sys Elite unable to program (over the one year update period) . $350 isn't a bad price and if your MaxiSys update period is expired you can get by with the IM508 for the 2018 and up FCA Chrysler and Jeep vehicles for codes and live data access if you don't have a 12 +8 adapter or paying Chrysler for Auto Auth .

if you need to budget buying the subscription, dont buy it. Damn 4 years now I havent updated my ms906.

my registration date expired mid 2018 on my maxisys Elite, so since then i haven't updated it, and its been working fine except for what i thought was a dead battery in it as i had to leave it plugged into the power point to use it as it would just turn off if it wasn't and the battery percent always showed 0%. So Guess what i decided to do 5 days ago.. i paid the $1503aud for the update and it was the worst thing i have ever done.. my Autel Maxisys Elite is completely useless now except for one thing.. the update completely fixed the battery issue but the update completely made my tool a desk paper weight now. for some reason it wouldn't install the updates into the hard drive and now i cant even use it on any cars. the support guy was rude and no help at all to me and spent not even 3 minutes trying to look at it remotely and said my tool must get sent off to get the hardware repaired as there is something wrong with it now. i am not happy with this tool and especially not happy with the service.

HI Danny, I had a couple of clients tell me about the support in your country. You should make a complaint about them and share with them your experience. And next time if you dont want to get into situations like this let me know and I can sell you another tool . They could have least gave you a loaner device after you spent all that money.
