This gentlemans use of martial expression is phenomenal. He is very fluid and transitions his fulcrums quite well. The snap is so persistent and tight. Very awesome.

Ninja Nate Hi there, I've been a 2nd gen JKD teacher showing the principles for over 30 years now and one of my pet hates is to see so called JKD concepts being touted around as something that Sijo Lee taught. It's rare in my opinion to see especially new instructors teaching JKD correctly. You seem from what I can see to be on a good path. Stay uninfluenced by the crowd and keep researching truth. All the best, Sifu Jimi Heys.
@SifuNate9 жыл бұрын
LMA UK Ah I'm glad you find my teaching suitable. I had good teachers. Richard Bustillo was one of them and who I am certified under. Thank you for your encouraging words Sifu Heys! I will do my best to present JKD accurately and as for the concepts thing I know some take it a little far but I believe fighting continues to change and JKD now is different from JKD in Sijo Lee's day and he knew it would continue to evolve and wanted it to keep evolving. You may see me teach concepts but I will try to make it clear it wasn't something he taught but I have either developed or seen effective. Best wishes, Sifu Nathan Young Aloha

My sensei was family. And very strict. I cleaned the dojo for two years before I could learn, as is tradition. In 12 years, I only made 4 progressions, but damn. I had to do a year in jail, and despite multiple attempted gang assaults, I didn't get hit even one time in that year. Jeet Kune Do is superior to all other martial arts, and is THE best street fighting style as well. Thanks man, its nice to put the old gi on and refresh. I really feed off your intensity. 🙏

The way I trained this was to essentially have the rear foot take the place of the front when the kick makes contact with the target or as close as possible... The pendulum as you demoed @0:42 is not exactly correct because both feet never occupy the same location at the same time (not even close)... Nor does the rear knock the front out via contact, the pendulum replaces one foot for another but both move at the same time, with the pendulum pivot at the top (your head) like a real pendulum (clock) so they could never touch, like the "balls". Same for the reverse, after the kick the landing can be done so that your rear goes back to it's original location as does the front.... The pendulum kick can take up a lot of space in one very sudden and explosive movement and shock the attacker with an intercepting stop hit...

this guy is incredible! i train kickboxing so we have some of the same kicks like roundhouse, spinning back kick and so on.. But the speed on this guys is amazing! And he makes it look so easy and it probably is for him too but you have to train for many many years to do the stuff he does at the same speed. He also looks allot like Bruce Lee :)

Nate, your Foot Displacement (Burst Step) looks alright. They only thing that I see, is When Applying ANY JEET KUNE DO Kicks , you must return back into On-Guard Position and do Not bring Lead Foot straight down.

Ninja Nate, How to develop this speed with kicks?
@wsxtgbujm5816 жыл бұрын
Sidiney José de Oliveira Form first, then when you have to form down perfectly, slowly and gradually pick up the speed while practicing. Keep picking up the speed until you mess up the form. The level below your mess up where you want to work on. Then pick up the speed again when you have that down.

Ninja Nate is pretty good his wing Chung is nice because that used to be Bruce Lee's whole entire technique with the pendulum legs like a pendulum going back-and-forth you move your legs a Certain Way, Suponic can't see where you're coming from and boom the kitchen with kicks I like, but you see this as a dance because you can never really see your opponents moves actually coming gifts have to anticipate them I like how they doing the stuff for practice.

any advice for a weaker person? I tried jujitsu but I couldn't do any of the moves. I'm currently teaching myself cat style. my friend Gabe said that "You'll learn as you get older" to me. He's somehow immune to pressure point attacks and taught me four moves, a punch, tiger claw, knife-hand, and knuckle blow. I know you probably won't reply but I'd like to talk to you sometimes. Come to Ottawa, learn from Daryl D'Amico. He doesn't skip important parts like you and your teacher before you. See my sifu does not play into the telephone game. He tries his best to keep it precise Jeet Kune Do. See you must learn before you make it your own. The art isn't sopost to be made your own from day one. It's like a pyramid shape. you start at one point on the left, you know nothing. then you have mastered jkd at the top of the pyramid. 'THEN' you can begin to make it your own, and widdle away what doesn't work for you, or isn't your taste. because only when you can move without thought or form, is when it is truly mastered.. If you haven't read the book of five rings and the art of war several times, YOU SHOULD NOT BE TEACHING!!
