Or you can just use an S-hook to shorten the chain in 1 second... And this way you can also adjust the length again any time you need to. (I thought that was the reason behind using chains with chandeliers in the first place.) 😉

Leave as much in canopy as possible. Women will say raise it then raise it some more.ok great. 5 minutes later lower it by 3 or 4 links. Da. Was lucky emough to secure a ton of commercial work where I no longer had to do any residental work. Best thing about commetcial work they will give you alarm code & keys so you can work at night when convient. Would often pull a long Thursday night shift to get a jump on vacations or weekend trips.

The chain is the easy part - the wire is way too long. Can you cut a foot off the wire and cut and split it back into white and black side?
