I purchased a replacement wand / hose assembly (WyFun Oral Hygiene Accessories Standard Water Hose Plastic Handle for Waterpik Oral Irrigator Wp-100 Wp-450 Wp-660 Wp-900 Sold by: VinYBan) . After the simple procedure of replacing the new parts I also noticed a dramatic loss in water pressure at the tips. After looking at some KZbin videos on how to dissemble the old handle to make repairs. My hose was to brittle and super glue melted the hose. I then took another look and compared the old and new assemblies to see what could cause the loss of pressure. The part that has the ears for screws has a much smaller water inlet hole than the old one. I simply removed that part from the original hose and put in on the new hose. Wa-La , Pressure restored! Look out for the little flexible flap that sits between the water outlet and the water inlet part.

Thanks for posting. I had the same fix in mind. Watching your video was very helpful. I fixed it with leftover tubing I had in the house. It now works fine. I'm so happy!

Very helpful video. I too used the 2 x 4 ml silicone hose purchased on Ebay for about $3.50, with enough to do another unit left over. The model was a very old WP20W. Hand piece was disassembled as was the pump unit. Silicone hose slipped over hand piece and pump connections and stayed in place when the pump was operated. I do think the hose, being softer that Waterpik's, delivered somewhat lower pulsed pressure but it is plenty. I like the WP20W as it's design allows the reservoir to be placed upside down on the pump when in storage with the hand piece on in place on its mount. If newer units had this capability I would have purchased a new one.

Three things: At the back of the latch that holds the nozzle in place is a TINY spring. Check it out, remember where it fits, then put it in a safe place. This is on the part where the tube attaches in the handle. I used a micro-fuel line 3/32 in ID, 3/16 in OD that I got at Home Depot for less than $5. The OD is a little larger than the original. The package is 10 ft of tube, enough for three repairs. SKU 8 11000 01193 0 There is a collar on the tube where it attaches inside the handle. When you disassemble it, have a straightened paper clip handy. Use the paper clip to feel inside the collar, you will notice there is a lip inside one end. Remember the orientation of the lip in the collar for when you reassemble it on the tube..

How do you disconnect the factory hose from the handle? You showed sliding it back in place but not the removal of it?
@tgmac82885 жыл бұрын
Go to video location 4:09 - You will see the little white ring. Just reverse the procedure to slide the white ring backward. Then, the factory hose can be disconnect from the handle easily.

Good day, I got a handle model WP-65 and I cant open it, at all, on ur video u didnt really show how u opened urs, you removed that part from ur video. I tried a sharp knife, but nothing can go in to split open it. Pls advice.
@tgmac82882 жыл бұрын
At 1.50 to 1.54, the video showed clearly using a small screw driver (not knife). Find a smallest screw instead of a knife to break thru to open. Tried knife before - no luck!

Very good video. What is the inner diameter of the 1/4 inch pvc tube?
@tgmac82887 жыл бұрын
Didn't bother and no idea what is the exact inner diameter of the 1/4 inch pvc tube. As mentioned in the video, the 1/4 inch tube was from the air pump of my fish tank.

Great job! But for $13 direct from Water Pik for the handle and hose, I think I'll go that route. Excellent video!
@tgmac82889 жыл бұрын
Yes, the price Is $8.99 + shipping cost from Waterpik Store. Lowest shipping cost is $4.95. But, once the address/country entered and the shipping cost maybe be changed. The shipping cost to Canada could be $16.85 plus. So, the price becomes $26 instead of $13. I have 2 of this Waterpik unit and both hoses got brittle to break by themselves. For under $5.00, the silicon hose is more flexible and last for much longer. Thanks for your nice comment!

+Swtcargurl Shipping to other regions certainly would present another consideration. If I were not in a remote area, I would certainly go the route of the silicon tubing for your stated reasons. However, I will burn up the savings very quickly, driving to where I could get the inexpensive tubing. I may keep it in mind and pick some up to have on hand for future needs! Thanks for responding. Wishing you and yours the very happiest of holidays, whatever you may celebrate - may it be filled with love.

Both the silicon & aquarium tubings can be purchased from Ebay under $5.00 in total and will ship to ones address without driving around. Wishing you and yours the very happiest of holidays too! Our world is always filled with love!

I have to tell you, it is NOT easy to pull the main piece apart. It is strongly glued and it is prone to leave scratches on it while attempting to separate it.
@tgmac82886 жыл бұрын
lol Missed the front part to show to use a stainless steel utility knife to separates the body. Then, use a small screw driver to split the body apart. Once a stainless steel utility knife is used, it could avoid some bad scratches and won't be that hard. Thanks for telling that .

@@tgmac8288 No problem. =) I tried it out, but the "new" hose end kept breaking upon being attached and the length kept getting shorter and shorter. I finally ordered a replacement. Now I have some plastic to recycle. =)
@tgmac82886 жыл бұрын
"Yes" Had the same problem like you - the old hose kept breaking. The problem was solved by cutting the old hose short and extended with longer silicon hose. With the softness of the silicon hose, no further problem shown up. I won't suggest to buy new because the greedy Waterpik shouldn't keep supplying poor quality hose which starts to disintegrate by itself after a few year. That is Waterpik's strategy to steal money from customers' pockets. On the other hand, this silicon hose last for ages, but the new will break again soon.
