My issue is the behind the neck re-rack. I’m afraid of hitting my neck so I tend to receive the bar way back, where it slipps off. Thanks for the video, very helpful.

The same thing happens to me and it makes me scared to try it everytime. Cant ever get used to it. Im wondering if that means Im pushing my head too far forward on the rerack or something?

Thanks! Really helpful. Never thought or been told to go up and meet the bar. Made a huge difference.

Thanks. Never thought to jump to the bar.

Thanks, made more sense with the extra demonstrations at the end. Will give those a go as I've always been afraid to catch the bar when doing overhead work. Great vid!

Thanks. It's a good time to practice these types of things as a lot of us have limited gym access, and only light home weights.

I’ve always wondered this and as the weights get heavier I dread multiple reps because it was killing my clavicles. Thank you!

this is also important for very heavy push jerks/over head presses.

1:55 makes sense physics wise why that has the least impact. The bar is still weightless from the upward momentum of the squat she meets the bar giving it almost no time to accelerate and then absorbs the remaining momentum. I don't think Im going to jump to meet the bar but definitely will try to meet the bar more. Thanks!

Excellent slo-mo explanation. Any for lowering the snatch?
@bbaliFit4 жыл бұрын
Love the tips. I've accidentally caught the bar on the boney part of my neck one too many times for behind-the-neck catches and decided it's much easier to clean it off the ground after lol. The front rack movements are fine, it's only the behind-the-neck stuff that get me and it's only sometimes (but those few times I do, it's pretty painful). Did you have to learn how to avoid doing that at all?
@hannahdeming97394 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I’m terrified of bringing the bar down behind my neck on a vertebrae. This will help a lot.

I've strained my lower back catching the bar as I am receiving it and NOT staying tight. KEEP IT ALL TIGHT IN THE BELLY. Also dont stay flat footed. Not sure how people can just let the bar crash into the legs like that. And make sure you are strong enough to catch it; it shouldnt be a PR jerk and then re-rack lol
