Great video. On the 2 to 1 ratio's I was kinda confused. That helped me out alot. I normally would mix 2 to 1 in multiple cups and put them in the same cup and stir it. Always wondered would that throw the ratio off.

Love the videos. I’m about to hydro dip and spray my first parts after watching most of your DIY’s, tips, and tricks. On the mixing cup you’re using to demonstrate, why is 2:1 broken into 4 columns? What is 2:1:1:1?

How do u come out with the first number in the mixing cup like a 4 to 1 I know the 1 it's the 4 I have trouble with is it every number is 1cup like 4to1 is it 4 cups of paint and 1 cup of hardner u know what the can says

hey there hows it goin. quick question if ya dont mind. i'm trying to clear stuff up about "parts" if someone didnt have a mixing cup and had to mix with actual ounces or cups or something. say its 4:1 ratio. does that mean mix 4 cups of paint with 1 cup of hardener? or 2:1 in ounces. does that mean mix 2 ounces of paint with 1 ounce of hardener?

My formula for spraying is 4:3:1 (4 parts paint, 3 parts thinner. 1 part catalyst) How do you gauge this when everything 1 to 1, 2 to 1, 3 to 1 and so on.

go to the last number in mixing ratio middle column then go up to the first 7 then the next 7 but it is clearly lower than the first 7,jees what a confusing video ,

Okay ... so a mixing ratio is well a ratio, say for example 3:1, or 4:1 etc. So he said go to the last number of the mixing ratio, in reference to the 2nd number in the mixing ratio. A ratio will always have at least two parts, so the last number in a mixing ratio would be just simply the second number if only mixing two different parts. If you add a third part of say for example C, then the ratio would change to something like 3:1:1 for example. Then there the last number would be 1 because it is the last number in the mixing ratio. So he went to the last number, which is 1 for the 4:1 mixing ratio. Then he says "in the middle column" because as you can see in the mixing cup, there are three columns for a mixing ratio of 4:1:1. But he will not be needing the last column since he's only mixing two different parts, so he ignores it. So he says "middle column". Once at the middle column, he remembers about how much product he needs. So he needs about enough product to fill the cup up to where the red arrow mark in the video points in the cup, which points right at about the 7 mark in the middle column of the 4:1:1 ratio. So when mixing anything by ratios in the mixing cups, each column will have numbers. Look at the 4:1:1 on the cup. You see segments of up to 12 in each column. Just match the same number in each column. If you go to say for example the mark 3, then in the next column you will need to do the same and your next part up until the mark 3. So both columns should be filled up to the same mark. You'll always pour in your part A to the first column desired numbered mark,then part B to the second column and same number mark as the first column, unless otherwise instructed to do so. He figured out he needs about up to the 7 mark. So now he has to find the 7 in the first column of the 4:1:1 ratio. The first column with the mark 7 will be where he will fill up the cup with part A. Once he has that in the cup, he still needs to add part B to make the 4:1 ratio. Now if you look to the next column in the 4:1:1 ratio on the cup, you see the middle column with the 1. You will see the same number 7 mark in this column. What you need to do now is add your Part B to the cup on top of part A ***WITH THE PART A STILL IN THE CUP AS YOU DO SO*** and as you gradually add the part B, you will see the mixture increasing in the cup, and slowly climbing up the marks. You will need to stop until mark 7 (fill up until mark 7) in the middle column to make the ratio. You will then have your product mixed at the proper ratio called for.
