Gerunds always end in ing Gerunds are verbs ending in ing used as a noun. Infinitives -begin with to or not... Can also be used as nouns Root of the verb .. V1 Participle is a verb can be used as a verb phrase or as another part of speech besides a verb

Imo i describe gerund always end up in ING so example my mom is singing i think that is a gerund While in infinitive My mom is singing because she really loves it I dont know if this is right
@CozyGrammar2 жыл бұрын
Great question. Yes, gerunds always end in ING, but not all words that end in ING are gerunds. In your example, "My mom is singing," singing is actually what's called a present participle. Along with the helping verb IS it indicates the continuous action of singing in the present moment. A gerund is a present participle that is used as a noun. For example: My mom likes singing. Here, singing is being used as a noun because it is the thing, the activity, that your mom likes. Hope that helps!

Hi sir How to form a lengthy simple sentence by using non finite verbs
@CozyGrammar3 ай бұрын
Great question! The key to lengthy sentences lies in how you join a series of clauses. (If you need it, here's a review of clauses: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2rdoWmDj6eHlcU). Give it a try here and I'll offer you some pointers.
