Who you are is evolving every day. Take care of yourself by tending to the basics. Sleep, hydration, nutrition, movement, rest, breathing, and gratitude. Keep to these tiny steps, and over time, you will emerge with a tremendous body of wisdom. Your vista is expanding, not just here across the Fabulous landscape, but for who you are in the world.

Love, compassion, and prayers are all we truly need. As a single mom, things have been tough on me. My husband passed years ago. I’m all alone. Both of my sons are autistic. I’m just overwhelmed. Father God hear my prayers. Since covid I’ve been struggling to support my children and myself but my faith in GOD is still strong! Like many others. I lost my job for declining the vaccine. I’ve been struggling since. I declined because of my health conditions lupus, and heart disease. Since losing my job I’ve been waitressing I love it but I’m not making nearly enough to to get by. Even as I constantly struggle to pay my rent. And I constantly struggle to provide groceries for my sons! I’m choosing to keep faith. Walking with faith is the most important thing us christian’s must do. So as I struggle I Thank you Heavenly Father and I thank you Jesus I will keep faith! I know a blessing is coming! ❤

The immense failing of Christianity is in NOT teaching what Jesus taught, that the kingdom of heaven is WITHIN! That his capabilities were the capabilities of us all. Organized/orthodox religion wants to place all of that OUTSIDE of ourselves to make us dependent on them for a connection to “God.” There is NO separation, not from each other or from anything else on this planet or in the universe!

I've been 9 stone since I was 17 years old. I'm now 47 and I'm still 9 stone. I vary between 8 and a half stone to 9 when I get a flu. I've only been to see a doctor 2 or 3 times in my entire life and apart from tooth aches or some teeth falling out, I've never been sick. I feel so light and alive all the time. All my veins do pop out like the roots of trees. For I do eat a balanced diet consisting of meat, vegatables, potatoes, fish, chicken, bread and soups. I don't eat fast foods at all. I eat fruit everyday too, and I love drinking water. I drink atleast 3 pints of water a day. I sleep great most of the time and I do breath slow and relaxed. So I always find that we must look after our mind, body, and souls, if we want to attain a good healthly condition and remain in a consistent state of wellbeing. For I'm always connected to my energy body.

@@yougaming6461Hiya, no, I never drank alcohol for it will only make a person even more depressed. Drink and drugs only numbs the pain, but they'll never eradicate the problem. That has to come from within. So If you battle through your withdrawals and not give in to temptation again after that, you'll be in the clear and you'll no longer be depressed.❤️✨
@markfuller
@markfuller Жыл бұрын
@@yougaming6461 Look for Dr. Andrew Huberman's 2-hour "What Alcohol Does to your Body, Brain & Health." (Podcast #86). When you comprehend how bad any amount of alcohol is for you, it's easier to choose not to have any. (There's literally nothing good about it. It's a poison, literally. The word "intoxicated" comes from the same word "toxic."). There have been studies that maybe a glass of wine is beneficial due to the compounds from grapes (have grape juice then!). Or, "unwinding" with a drink can have health benefits. But, you can unwind with meditation, or walking a dog. Why drink literal _poison_ to unwind? If you watch that video, there's really nothing good about it. If you have depression, practice mindfulness (even when you don't) and be aware of how your thoughts go. Depression tends to be repressed anger (a cold anger, anger turned inward). It tends to be living in the past. (Whereas, anxiety tends to be living in the future, worry about what we can't control.). Mindfulness can help you connect with the present moment (the only thing that's real), and recognize the self-talking mind that crowds the present moment. The story we tell ourselves in the present moment which adds nothing to the present moment, tends to obscure the moment. The 1st video in my playlist is a guided mindfulness meditation that could help. Keep in mind that being mindful (individuating the thinker from the observer) can make things worse. Many people narrate their existence to themselve because they *have* to. It's necessary because the way things are are intolerable to their ego. They can't accept the past, future. They need to tell themselves it was different, will be diferent, is the cause of what is, etc. There can be a deep subconscious connection to all this. It can be like an addiction to your story. Invalidating the story when it's necessary (for the ego; the subconscious repressing trauma, anger, shame?), you can have withdrawl symptoms (mental instability. I heard voices for 4-5 months.). Seeing a psychologist can be a useful tool to this path.

There's some copies of Eckhart's talks, audio only. I haven't seen any in awhile. But 2-3 years ago, I couldn't hardly listen to those because the laughing sounded like sadistic insensitivity to what is essentially _suffering._ (I saw someone else comment that way once too.). I could see the same talk _with video,_ and not have that reaction. The video was a cue that Eckhart was doing his innocent sarcasm, "tongue in cheek." Without the video, I was triggered somehow. I don't think I am today. It was just something about my awareness then. It's strange because there's many funny/absurd ways I can see the unawakened (default) mode. I think the old Mr. Magoo cartoons are entirely about that (which can spur laughter to think about). It can be funny to realize "it really is this way." But, it's someone suffering too. It's _not_ funny. People can be really lost that way.

Just start with a part of your body, let's say your right hand. Put your attention there. Your thoughts will slow down, and your hand might just start feeling special. It likes the attention. And see if you can move to other parts. You'll probably feel something new, and nice. That's the aliveness.

Keep in mind (sorry, not really) that mindfulness isn't about _not_ thinking. Just being aware that you are (when you are). It's not about fighting the thoughts, judging them. Just knowing that you are. The problem isn't thinking, it's not knowing we are doing it, and especially when the thoughts are confabulatory (about what happened in the past, will happen in the future, won't, should, could.). All the rationalizing who we are in this moment, or past moments, or will be in future moments. When we don't realize we're doing it, then it's like watching a movie. We become engaged in it like it's real. It can be total psychosis and we don't realize we're doing it. That's the problem. If we're not aware we're doing it, we let it be what it is (however delusional, craving, never satisfied). As long as you're not resisting the thoughts you observe, fighting them, judging them, then I don't see how mindfulness would be bad for an OCD person. Just be the witness to your thoughts (as well as what isn't thought: the sensory inputs in this moment. Those are real. Your thoughts aren't. It's powerful to individuate this way.). Consider what you get from obsessive [anything]. There is the witness or observer who is you. And then the thinker or obsessor. The ego gets some kind of sense of control by narrating your existence to yourself, or being hyper-engaged in it, or vigilent, etc. Just observing that you do it, realizing you are the observer (not the doer; your experience in the moment doesn't depend upon explanation, compulsive noticing, etc. You just are, and can watch what isn't.). Individuating this way can be very powerful if you've been deeply unconscious in the mental process (thoughts, definitions, cataloging, etc.).

BTW: The 1st video in my playlist is a guided meditation (mindfulness on the present moment) which worked for me. It guides you to be attentive to your physical experience/presence, and at the same time notice how your mind moves in its own way (often egoic, telling yourself a story that feels better than being in the moment as it is).

Anand-ei5dn there is a gem of a little book written by William Hart, a student of S.N.Goenka, ~"The Art Of Living, Vipassana Meditation, as taught by S.N.Goenka"~ this book describes the process, origin & gives a sense of what is Vipassana in clear english, but not only that, he compares this practice with other major meditation techniques/methods/goals so that you can better understand why you would want to choose one practice or another. the amazing thing about this book is that it is clear & concise, i have 3 copies that i gave to others but will get another for myself as it is so simply fun to read.

@markfuller
@markfuller Жыл бұрын
You have 5 senses (touch, taste, sight, smell, hearing). Depending on perspective, you could experience the touch of a breeze (cool air upon your skin) as experiencing the breeze, or your skin. It's just a matter of perspective, what you choose to orient yourself to. Typically, breathing is a way of being more aligned to your body (less to your mind's thoughts, sense of self). Pay attention to your breathing (the quality of breath, shallow or deep). Don't try to make it be anything, just notice inhale, exhale (long or short, slow or fast). You can notice the feeling of air through your nose. Your lungs contain a surface area equivalent to an olympic-size tennis court. Each breath is inflating that much space(!). That's something you can feel (don't think about it, feel it). Similarly, the way our minds hoard the past (and avoid the future, don't like change, etc), you can't have a new breath without giving up the old one. Each exhale is letting go of what you don't need, allowing a new inhale containing what you do need. (You can feel this.). In buddhism, the mind is considered a 6th sense similar to the 5. But, it's different because it can become over-attached to its own mechanism. You don't touch a tabletop and instantly become obsessed with the feeling/sensation of touching it (crushed when the tabletop goes away; yearing for another tabletop that feels just like that). The mind does that. So, being more grounded in the physical senses can help stay out of the mind's proclivity to ruminate & confabulate the experience. But, you can observe your thinking too, and that is (to some extent) a part of the physical experience (develop a skill for knowing how much of it is, and when it isn't). The video "Guided Mindfulness Meditation on the Present Moment. Be Here Now. (mindfulpeace)" would be a good thing to practice. It basically guides you to do what I described. The goal is to be able to "get there" anytime, not just in formal meditation.

@markfuller

Read about "auto suggestion." It was discovered in the 1800s by Emile Coue, and has been repeatedly tested & found to work. (He had half his patients repeat every day, "every day, in every way, I'm getting better and better." They did improve compared to those who didn't say it. In fact, the patients who said it didn't even believe what they were saying, or understand why. They were doing what they were told and it had an impact.). That was about mental health, but it's been proven that the mind (the story we tell ourself) is a big part of physical health too. (I remember reading a story about a doctor who became the head of Harvard(?) medical school 20 years after being fired for teaching TM meditation as a way to improve medical outcomes. After 20 years, the profession was beginning to see that there was more to medicine than medicine. The patient's state of mind contributes to outcomes. There could be real divine healing too (in the name of someone). That doesn't have to be mutually exclusive. But, much of it could be autosuggestion. If you tell yourself something will happen, it has a greater chance of happening. It can change the mind in a way that affects physical health. You never know if all healings are that, or if it's more of a deity, faith in a deity (or the positive effect of believing in such a higher power). I grew up with a palsied boy who, in his late teens his youth group would hold prayer meetings to heal him. It was kind of abusive because he was never healed, and they would feel smug that they did their part, he lacked faith ("obviously"). There's some dark sides to all this stuff too. He went along with it because his family was big in the church, it was his social venue. He knew it helped his peers feel more faithful. He didn't take it too personally. "It came with the territory." (He became a doctor of psychology.).

let me break this down as I see it. Quote; " it's not that your body loves being acknowledged". But isn't that the ego at play, an ego that is a bad thing always told by the teacher. So if its not the , quote: "physical body that its feeling, its halfway beyond the physical body", then what is that" halfway beyond" the your not supposed to be thinking about, Talk about contradictions. You would have to know how the intelligent species initially formed before you can use the Chinese belief of a Chi because there is no Chi in formless. A form would have to exist for Chi to be a part of that form. Unfortunately the teacher does not have a clue how the material physical source formed the intelligent species because if he did, he wouldn't be saying what he is saying and contradict himself and his reasoning. quote; " acquired knowledge of the human mind", well from what physical source does the human mind acquire its knowledge while going ,quote; " into the body"
