Just lovely! When my kids were growing up, we had no television on the first floor at all (and no cable). My daughter brought a friend home from college for the weekend and as they were driving back, her friend said, "Your family is weird." My daughter said, "What?! Why?" Her friend explained that she didn't mean "weird" in a bad way, but that we would get up from dinner and go into the living room and talk as a family for a couple of hours or more. She said her family had never done that and she wished they would have because, to that day, they still did not have meaningful conversations. That made me so sad for her friend.

I think the sconces originally had glass hurricane shades on them but they’re missing. No plans to raise them up; but we may remove them since they don’t work. Not sure yet!

Lindsey, I have a cheap hack for you for gold items that might be outdated lamps or like the base of the marble tables. Instead of rubbing buff, which is kind of expensive and can dry out. I take three different gold spray paints. First make sure it’s clean. Then spray some paint in something you can throw away take a chip brush and stipple it on. I go from the darkest to the lightest gold. Do it perfectly imperfect don’t make it to precious. I’ve done this on lamps, picture frames, trays, small decor items. I discovered this hack because in the middle of winter, I wanted to spray something, but it was 5° outside. Lol. We have six months of winter here in Wisconsin.😂 I would spray just a little bit in a container and stipple so I wouldn’t fume myself out…. Thank you for sharing your family with us. It has been such a joy to watch you grow. And the children are so calm and confident and happy! Great job mom, dad and children.

I know I have seen some of these things on other videos but I loved this one, it all come together and it is absolutely gorgeous you have a designers knowledge and taste. Is your sofa easy to keep clean? Where I want to put it gets alot of adult use. Can you turn this to where the short side is on the other side? Is the color dove an off white? Ummm $600 budget?? If the sofa was bought new, it must have taken up most of your budget and you did say the light fixtures cost around $300. The table was $100. Another side table and two chairs for $70-75 and so on. I think your transformation is wonderful. Lots of hard work and elbow grease went into this lovely room but the clickbait said $600 and that is why I watched as I am looking to redo my LR....just wondering....

Not clickbait! 🙂 The light fixtures were under $300, the tables were $75, and the chairs and pew were free. The rug was Christmas money, so I also count that as free!
