1. Staying awake > stress prioritises instinct (fight or flight OVER sleeping) 2. Physical ailments > stress creates symptoms (mental stress leads to physical stress / physical symptoms) 3. Loss of sex drive/sex interest > stress prioritises instinct fight or flight OVER need for sex 4. Loss of immune function > 5. Change of appetite > stress prioritises instinct (flight&fight OVER eating) OR stress creates compulsive behaviour (self comfort by over-eating) 6.

I would add with regards to eating that some SSRI anti depressants have the side effect on some people of making them very hungry all the time. Most doctors seem unaware of this side effect. I experienced this on e-citalopram and it caused me to gain an unhealthy amount of weight. Had to stop e-citalopram. I love Mark’s videos as they give many non drug related strategies for dealing with depression.

I feel that these symptoms are the same for anxiety disorders. New findings in high-impact journals suggest that serotonin levels don't help to regulate depression and that SSRIs don't actually work in the way we've believed.

I'm really sorry you are going through all this. Read all you can and find something that you could baby steps towards. My path to wellness started with one cornflake on Monday and two on Tuesday. Baby steps I know but it got me eating again. Then I moved onto affirmations. I would chant "I feel well" over and over again on my way to work. The other voice would be saying haha who are you kidding. I kept at it and three months later I realized it was lunch time before I felt bad.
