Don’t show us stuff you don’t do…the thing I love about your videos is you make them for the every day mom life, not “I have all the time in the world and get paid by products” videos. You are a real working mom with two kids who has little time for herself but still manages to look good, and on a budget! Im a busy mom of 4 with your same hair type (it’s longer thought) and I love your videos! Thank you for keeping the YT world REAL for those of us who are!

I've been watching from the beginning before Wilson was born. So fun to see your boys. Loved this video. I have hair that's very similar to yours and often I just refresh the top because....no one really sees the underneath much. I liked seeing how much gel you used to refresh. I haven't used that much gel so that might be why I'm not so crazy about my refresh. This helps. I also think that mousse is a great refresher product. Thanks Susie!

I have been wearing my hair natural for 12 years. My curl pattern is very much like yours! I live in Arizona, not a lot of humidity, there my hair is one way and I have that routine down. Currently in Florida, whose hair is on my head?!? lol it’s completely different!! I have NO Idea what to do with it. I look like a Brillo pad head daily! In AZ coconut oil would nearly be straightening like to my hair to give you an idea of how it responds. Here in FL I’ve added using Hask Argan oil it hopes it will smooth things out. Clearly I need to learn more about styling/refreshing in humidity. Sorry for the long comment… thanks for your videos!!

Your boys are so handsome too! Thanks for your tips….I’m attempting curly girl again after years of blow drying and flat ironing….my white hair was turning yellow….i thought it was due to sweat ( I like in a hot humid area & i garden a lot) but I recently found out it was from Heat styling!! Yikes….the last time I tried curly girl, my issues were Refreshing 2nd & 3rd. day … also I had no idea what I was doing so I gave up. You and other KZbinrs are teaching me how to do it right….hopefully it works this time, cuz I don’t want yellowed white hair

Omgosh, the boys are so big! Your boys and your dog are so cute! Been trying to go curly for about a month. I suck at refreshing my hair. I usually mist it with water. I'm going to try your suggestion and add leave in conditioner to the water. Also, reapplying a little biotera gel. My hair is grey, so that's it's own issue as far as texture goes. Just bought a deep conditioning mask to try out. I desperately need a haircut so my hair is long and heavy. I'm in search of a new salon at the moment. Glad you're back! Your videos are so helpful.
@CurlySusie5 ай бұрын
Hi Barb! How much of your hair is grey and how long is it? You may benefit from using a deep conditioning treatment and when you style your hair... try finger coiling??
@Barb.....5 ай бұрын
@@CurlySusie @CurlySusie Hi Susie! I'm 55 and started greying young. Stopped dying Nov 2017. My hair is half way down my back. I'd say 80%? grey with some dark still underneath in the back. I updated my 6 yr old profile pic so you can see what I'm dealing with. 😂 I'll try that with the deep conditioner. My finger coiling needs work. For some reason it doesn't take well. Maybe I'm pulling too tight . Thanks!
@tessltaekook85015 ай бұрын
@@Barb.....Just cut it yourself. It's not hard and it's fun too. You don't need a hairdresser for cutting your hair. Maybe to get layers if your hair is thick enough to support it. But be aware that hairdressers most likely will mess up curly hair. They don't know how to cut curly hair and insist on frying it with a hairdryer and flat iron to see if it's "even", and they cut too much so you'll end up with very short hair afterwards when it shrinks up, IF your curls survived the frying... for me, my hair took several months to repair from the damage they did... Never again. I haven't been to any salon for 25 years and my hair and curls has never looked better.
@Barb.....5 ай бұрын
@@tessltaekook8501 That's great that you can cut your own hair. Wish I could, but I do need layers and I'm not up to that task. I don't like going to the salon.

Hi Susie, thanks for the video. Beautiful family (including the dog!!) My hair is course and curly in summer and wavy in winter, I don't need gel to make it curl and I don't like the feeling of a film on my hair second day. The gel also clumps the hair and there's no movement and flow. My hair is bouncy and light without gel but frizzy. What's your recommendation for bouncy ,natural feel to the hair without frizz? Curl cream, refresh foam, mousse? I haven't found a product that leaves my hair soft, conditioned and free to do it's thing.
