Hey Nick love your videos very educational and helped anwser many of the question about being a technician. I've been wanting to work at a dealership like Toyota but I've havent had any schooling it's mostly been hands on at home for like 5 years and working at Pepboys as lube tech for about a year and started being a mechanic for about 5 months so far. I've still got a long way to go and learn I've also plan on taking my ASEs. Do you think I have a chance to move up to toyota? If not do I need other requirements to do so?
@LetsDriftMedia4 жыл бұрын
I think you have a good chance of getting hired as a lube tech at a toyota dealer fersure, ASE are always a plus so if you can a few before applying it will increase your odds of getting in. thanks for the support

Just a quick transmission question, could a worn out clutch make the vehicle not get into gear? I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado with a 4.3 & manual trans and it’ll start but it won’t shift into 1st at all. Like the shifter won’t shift to 1st, it’s like it’s stuck or something. Any ideas on how I can tackle this?
@jay8a9014 жыл бұрын
Was the clutch getting hard to engage before this major problem occurred? Then yes you're clutch is bad
@gn9264 жыл бұрын
@@jay8a901 that’s the thing, I don’t remember if it did or not. What other problems could cause it?
@LetsDriftMedia4 жыл бұрын
Could be the clutch could b e the master cylinder or the slave cylinder your going to have to do some diagnosis to find the problem.

Did you figure out why your tranny was covered in oil? Was it the rear main seal?
@LetsDriftMedia3 жыл бұрын
Some of it was rear main seal but I'm pretty sure the actual trans case is leaking.
@NisSubieTechA3 жыл бұрын
@@LetsDriftMedia I'm in the middle of my clutch job. My tranny is covered in oil or grease just like yours. For me, the oil seems to be coming from the rear main seal and sensors. I suspect my front main seal is leaking too, but I'll get to that some other time. Btw, did you try cleaning that oil and grease off the tranny? I took it to a coin up wash and used purple power decreaser. I was able to get a few layers of that crap off, but I had to use goo gone with a brush for the rest.
