Thanks for getting me back on the road in the middle of the night with a broken bushing on my H2 shifter. Your video was a nightsaver.

Do you remember what radiator you bought? I like the look of the black radiator instead of silver aluminum. How is that one working for you?

Paul, the black rad that I removed in this video was the oem 2 core for a 170 to 200 cid motor. (That’s what the stock motor that was in the Mustang before the mods started.) When I got the 5.0/302cid installed (showed here in this video) it ran hot, and I replaced it with new oem 3core rad designed for a 289. It did better then the two core, but eventually got hot on me. I have since then replaced that oem 3 core for an all aluminum 3core rad kit that comes with electri fan and shroud, and it does better that those other two set-ups. I’m not sure what the cfm speed is on my rad kit currently but I borrowed a SPA 3200cfm electric fan from a buddy and it worked very well.

Eric G Radiator swap shouldn’t take you take to long other than waiting on the fluid to drain. If you haven’t finished with the swap yet, don’t forget about maybe replacing the thermostat along with those rad and transmission line connect hoses. Which motor is in your pony? It would be a good time to do while the coolant is drained out. Thanks for watching, Thanks for the compliment, I’m glad you found my video. If you haven’t seen my other videos or my KZbin channel, I’ll put a link right here: m.kzbin.info/door/la-Xl_u9r2s8GCM-yW31Lw?view_as=public I hope you will hit that “Subscribe” button, it helps me out a lot. @@MichaelEd Thanks for the reply. I will be sure to like and subscribe to your channel. I've got a 302 in mine. Nothing crazy. It was originally an I6 but the guy I purchased it from swapped the V8 in. I actually did replace the thermostat and housing about a year ago. Transmission and radiator hoses wouldn't be a bad idea though, especially since I have everything apart anyways.

Eric G those straight sixes are tough little motors. Where are you from? I’m in north Mississippi and it’s rainy and a little cold today. I’ve got the garage heat up and fixing to try and get some more work done on Modified Mustang. I’m so ready to get it back out on the road.

Michael Ed well it’s a 302 Windsor V8. It originally was an I6 but the guy we bought it from swapped the V8 in it. He also did a mild street build. Small can, pistons, intake. Other than that it’s stock. I live in the Dallas/Ft Worth area in Texas. I can’t wait to get mine back on the road. Ive owned her since I was in high school. I’m 29 now. I love that car. Honestly I can’t ever imagine not owning that Mustang. Hope you get yours up and running soon!

Eric G nice set up you got. I’ve owned mine since high school also, and I’ve spent the 2yrs working on this Modified project. Before it was stock 200ci with 13” wheel and pretty much very old and worn old everything. Now with the mustang II front suspensionand a converted 5.0/302 with an AOD trans it’s so much fun It running and drivable, but I’m working on the interior and seats and with the weather I’m not ready to drive it around yet. Hopefully before summer I’ll get some footage of it rolling again and testing on video. Hope to able to travel soon in it for car meets and vacations. If you want to sends some pics of your mustang, I love to see it. Go to the about section tab my channel and you send them via mail,e-mail, or even instragram.

Can you expand on the process of removing and reinstalling the transmission cooling lines? Did you have to transfer any fittings from previous radiator to the new one? Any info appreciated. I’m about to put a new OEM style radiator in my 66 Stang.
@MichaelEd
@MichaelEd 5 жыл бұрын
Jack Minor the transmission cooling lines were attached with 3/8 hose and clamps. The hose barb fitting is screwed into the lower radiator just like a bolt. I believe I used a 7/16 wrench to remove them from my old radiator to the new one. After that reinstall you radiator with the 4 bolts and reconnect your transmission lines to the barb fittings with hose clamps. Reconnect your upper and lower rad coolant hoses. Crank up your motor and fill with proper coolant turn on your heater and with the rad cap off watch for the coolant level to drop and add fluid. Once you notice that the coolant isn’t dropping anymore, let the motor run for about 5-10 mins so that any additional air bubbles escape from the coolant system. Tight cap back on radiator, check for for any leaks around hoses (coolant & transmission lines), and take it hit a spin. Be mindful of your temp gauge just Incase. After your ride around the neighbor, let the motor cool down (like for several hours) and check your coolant level to make sure no don’t need to add any more. I hope this helps/answers your concerns. Good luck on your radiator replacement. Don’t forget to Subscribe!!

Have you done the external tranny cooler on your h2?
@MichaelEd
@MichaelEd 7 ай бұрын
Not yet. Haven’t had any transmission heating or over heating issues. Having to commute with a long drive in a mountainous region or towing might require upgrading to ensure longevity of the transmission. Both of those factors I don’t experience enough to cause worry.

@@MichaelEd thanks 4 follow up, I just installed a new radiator. My external one is super rusty. Do you think i should replace it? I think ill just try to find oem to replace it. Really like your hummer vids

@longlivechina7538 definitely inspect it, possibly clean it and paint it if it’s still keep fluid temps in operating specs and not leaking. Light wire brushing and cleaning. Prep it for paint with a rust inhibitor, (aka: Rust oleum) That should make it look better and blend back in with the rest of the equipment. Thanks for watching! I appreciate you.
