I changed the front tires on my Craftsman 22 horsepower 50’ cut riding tractor a few years ago. Let me just say this,it was a pain in the ass to get those new tires back on that rim! It took me over 2 hours to get both tires back on the rim and sealed tightly. I called my mechanic at Car-X and he said next time bring them up here and I will change them out for 20 bucks. I told him you have a deal my friend!

Those front tires are a real pain. I was going to put tubes in mine, but it was such a pain. I took them to the tire shop, and they did it a lot less time than it would have taken me. And I didn't end up with scraped knuckles.

Good job. Tires are tricky to take off and put on. I think tractor pattern tires that are on the steering axles should be the opposite what you have on your tractor. That would be similar to a road grader’s tires. The back like yours and front reversed. Good video.

I changed one tire on my dad's craftsman YT3000 and it was a bit of a pain but i'm a tire professional from high school and i used water and dish soap to seal the bead and still holds air since its a tubeless tire

I use a long bolt attached to a saw horse , It fastens the rim to the saw horse and acts as a pivot for my tire spoons . And a bar clamp to hold the sidewall down . Easier working standing up .

I just put a inner tube in that same size tire. It's no joke putting the lip back under the wheel's lip. Let see it can hold air longer than a few days.

Just be careful when you're putting the tire back under the rim lip that you don't pinch the tube and puncture it

Just did this job yesterday... Got the back two bigger tires after some struggle.. pains me to say i gave up on the small front tires after running out of time. The bead kept slipping off the rim. Had to take them into the JD dealer to get the tires mounted. Maybe I'll have better luck next time... Should have used oil...

Using some oil does the trick it makes installing the tires a lot easier
