The knee trick was the key to getting the new tore onto the rim. I spent the better part of an hour goofing around, trying to somehow hold the rim secure, and finally giving up and checking KZbin. After sifting through a bunch of useless videos, I found this one, skipped to the part I wanted to see, then it took less than a minute to get the tire on. Thank you!

You can also keep the tire, put a patch on the inside of the tire where the wire went through it, then put a inner tube in the tire. I do not have a video on it but I will do one when the opportunity comes up.

@JohnsonsSmallEngines2 жыл бұрын
I sure did, LOL. I was born that way so it was easy to deal with everything, plus I have changed thousands of tires. The trick is getting the tire bead in as close to the center of the rim before prying the other bead off of the rim and as I say "baby steps" small bites will make it also easier.

If you have too big a gap between the rim and the new tire and are having trouble pressurizing it, a ratchet strap (or cord of some type) cinched around the tread will help push the bead toward the rim and make it easier. Sometimes you can just stand the tire up and push down on the tread while pressurizing, but that doesn't work as well.
@JohnsonsSmallEngines3 жыл бұрын
Yes but remember that if you over pressurize the tire when using a ratchet strap you can hurt yourself when you release the ratchet strap so be very careful!!

If you are not good about greasing and maintaining your machine, absolutely change to bearings. If you want to keep the bushings, have a grease gun and are good with maintaining your machine, just remember to grease your front wheel bushings several times a season, depending on how many hours you use it. This link will show you how to install 2 upgrades but the wheel bearings part is what you may want to perform. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKW7i4qZg9iMh5I.

Great video. I just put tubes in both of my X300 rear tires. What do you use to grease the rear axles? I picked this mower up used and the previous owner apparently never did. Dry as a bone and nearly seized. I want to try and bring it back before it gets worse.
@JohnsonsSmallEngines4 жыл бұрын
LP the x300 series tractors are hydrostatic driven in the rear and there is no grease points. The transmission has hydraulic oil in it that keeps everything lubricated including the rear axle. It’s all in one. If your trying to push the machine when it isn’t running? There is a hydro release lever you pull out that is located near the hitch hole in the back of the tractor. To the right of the hole.
@lp82434 жыл бұрын

LP ooooo! Ok, gotya. Just put never seize on shafts after you clean them up before putting the tires back on axles. That will keep corrosion down.

Hey Brad - So the tires on the John Deere D110 do not have inner tubes? My JD D110 has a flat rear tire - so I guess I just need a new tire? I thought I could patch the inner tube, but if there isn't one...
@JohnsonsSmallEngines5 жыл бұрын
Install a inner tube, it's cheaper then replacing the tire and if the tire is not dry rotted? you do not need a new tire. Make sure you check the inside of the tire for thorns, nails, etc before installing the tube. The size tube you will need is the size on the tire!
@carlososborne28665 жыл бұрын
Tre Gibbs I was wondering the same. But upon closer inspection , I found that information on the old tire. It reads" tubeless"
@JohnsonsSmallEngines5 жыл бұрын
Install a tube, take the tire size off of the tire it should be something like "20 X 8.00 - 8". then go ether to a local lawn mower shop or anyone that sells tubes and purchase a tube. Once you have a tube in hand, cut the valve stem out of the rim and install the tube in the tire on the rim. All lawn tractor tires are tubeless until we install tubes in them! I will make a video on how to install a tube in a tire!
