Very good on take apart! All I needed was to take the carburetor cover off and drain the water out of the float cup. I put in some HEAT drygas and it started right up. Very good work!! thank you so much!

Excellent video, I was able to change out the carburetor and my snow thrower is now working. Thank you! Removing the choke shaft would have been great to see. In the end I just applied a little bit of pressure to the cheap plastic that was holding it in place.

I have a brand new snow blower from last yr. Used it zero times but I started it several time and was sure it was empty of gas. Now it won't start. Not looking forward to doing this, but I guess I gotta.

I have gas leaking after my carb replacement. Do you have any videos on how to troubleshoot can leakage? Thank you.
@JohnsonsSmallEngines9 ай бұрын
If the carburetor is leaking. You have a bad carburetor or you had debris that entered the carburetor upon install. You will need to take it apart to see what has happened or send it back as a bad carburetor and get a new one.

My carburetor comes is secured the same as this, but very firmly stuck. I've sprayed it with wd40 but as yet still hasn't budged. Is there a trick to getting it unstuck? Feels like it's glued in place right now.

Sometimes I will give them a tap with a small hammer or a wrench to get them to break loose. Just be careful you do not damage it.

You can not purchase some of the carburetor parts due to the cost of a new one verses parts. Cheaper to purchase a new one and use parts if needed.

Really surprised they have a primer...especially since there isnt a shutoff valve.. In 4yrs ive given up on priming as it almost always floods with just 2 pumps...now I dont use it at all & she starts excellent...

I wish you could make a video on how to add a gas shut off valve. I would have never bought this snow blower because if you can't shut off the gas to the carburetor the gas will turn into turpentine in the summer months and clog up your carburetor. Then you have to take the damn carburetor off and clean it all out properly and put it back together and hope it starts. The work around is to add stabilizer to keep the gas fresh or always use non ethanol gas which is what causes the gas to go back but it is more expensive but worth it to save you the trouble of taking apart your carburetor. I can't believe craftsman doesn't add a gas shut off valve. And the way they designed this snowblower you would have to cut holes in the back panel so you could run the gas line outside the back cover and add the shut off valve. THEN you have to cut another hole to run the gas line back inside to attach the gas line to the carburetor. Nice engineering job craftsman ! A simple $5 shut off valve could have been added onto this snowblower like Ariens but nope save the company about 20 cents which they would pay for the shut off valve and save consumers a lot of headaches! I knew I should have stayed with Ariens snowblower because they are hands down the best in the business!

Start using Aspen4 and you should not have to worry about having any more issues with the carburetor, no fuel off needed. Here is a link to read about it and you can see if it is available in your area. www.aspenfuels.com/products/alla/aspen-4/. www.aspenfuels.us/

Just pull it out. It just clips in. This was how to remove the carburetor, not how to disassemble the carburetor. The next machine I get in that has this model engine, I will make a video on how to disassemble it.
@5herm Жыл бұрын
Should you try and pry it up? Doesn’t want to move and it’s all plastic. Is there a tab in the slots to push in? Lift up?
@JohnsonsSmallEngines Жыл бұрын
You must take out the inside choke plate, pull the choke plate out then pull out the choke rod from above. I hope you can understand that. I’m waiting for a snow thrower to come into to show how to.
@5herm Жыл бұрын
Lol, how do you get choke plate out? How is it in there? Sorry but you can’t put new carb on without taking old shaft off of old carb. Taking carb off was easy and I understand that’s all your video is about but this is a major piece of the puzzle can you elaborate on how to get choke plate out of carb so you can pull shaft out? When I look at new carb it just looks like it pulls straight up but it’s not budging? It must be something simple I’m missing? Thanks for feedback I just can’t find and videos that show that. Be a piece of cake if the new carbs came with the shaft on them already instead of taking it off old carb
