Appreciate the comment David! I was actually cleaning up my Troy Bilt machine this weekend and broke the darn handle bar. Discovered a bunch of gunk inside the fuel tank, but getting ready for the winter! Anyways, please like and subscribe if you haven't already. I'm trying to hit that 1k mark by the end of the year! Thanks again!

I have to say, my snow blower had not been turned on in over 2yrs. Of course when I was trying it would not go on. I went on you tube to see how to clean up carburetor, sure enough. Did everything as you did and put it all back together and started right up like a charm. And we are expecting 2 feet of snow this weekend so I had to get it started. Thank you for your channel.

I watched a few videos for this repair before coming across this one and this one is the best! Easy to follow steps that made me feel comfortable in attempting this job myself. I watched this video and the follow up on how to clean the carburetor. 45 minutes later my snowblower started right up! Can't thank you enough!!!

So cool. It's so nice that the 2 of you guys work on stuff together. My wife and I used to do it for years, until she got this toxic reaction from certain chemical smells. ....or maybe she was just saying that, lol.

This was a very helpful video! The only suggestion I'd give is to loosen that bottom nut on the carburetor before taking it off. Mine was on so tight that I had to slide it back on the screws to hold it in place to get that nut to turn (which was no big deal). Great guide!

Hi... I liked and subscribed. ADDITIONAL INFO: .. I have a 420cc/30" cut. Things are a bit different than your snowblower and hundreds of other vids that I have seen, due to the size of motor on a 420cc. Just listen, ... you need to remove the drift cutters......stand it on it's face, ...take off both wheels.... remove the 4 screws that attach the handlebars, slide the handlebars aside... (pay attention to cables and such), and the carb will easily slide off the pins that they are on. There are 2 different screens on that particular carb ...190W, that may or may not be on your carb. I was made aware by looking on a site DonyBoy, I can't remember the other one, but there was a screw over top of a slotted piece of plastic on the side of the carb. I cleaned those 2 extra places, and my machine (2017) works better than new. I hope this helps somebody.

I have the same snow blower. Followed your instructions to remove carburetor, clean, and reinstall which was easy. Added fresh oil and gas. Plugged in to start and it took a couple cranks and started right up. I let it run for two minutes and stopped it. I tried to start again, but no go. Just cranking. You think it could be the spark plug?

Hey, my carburetor is like stock and don’t want to move what should I do??? I put some WD40 and it’s still don’t want to move.

how do you remove the choke control lever? The plastic that attached to the knob broke and now I need to replace the whole rod. How do I do that without replacing the entire carb?
@dennisrphymurphy7929 Жыл бұрын
Hi... I saw those choke things on Amazon. There is a small screw on the righthand side if the carb for removal... good luck

So I clean it out and it starred, but now leaking gas so I changed the rubber o ring that is supposed to seal the bowl. It still leaks, can a bad gasket cause that or is the carburetor junk?
@ThatGuyReviews Жыл бұрын
sounds like it, i would replace the rubber o ring which you already did. how old is the gasket and carb?
@tommyleonardo2692 Жыл бұрын
@That Guy Reviews sorry, I'm unsure cause it belonged to girlfriends dad who passed away almost 4 yrs ago and it has sat this whole time. I'm just trying to help her mother out and get it running. The gasket actually ripped around where the washers are the come out. So it doesn't sit properly. I ordered a new carburetor cause I didn't see where you could order just the gasket. It doesn't come with that long rod that I believe the choke connects to. Does that rod come off so I can use the old one? It's the same snowblower you had in this video so it helped tremendously. Thank you for that.
@ThatGuyReviews Жыл бұрын
the rod is a separate part unfortunately. Sounds like you made the right move, over time rust can form and deterioration can set in if it’s not properly maintained. Keep us posted and good luck!

On my carb, there is no o-ring. I thought that was pretty funny, but there is not supposed to be one... if you put one in, it will leak. Good luck.

What exactly does that real thin wire do?

HA... I got it figured out... it doesn't do much but it still needs to be hooked up.

Mine starts but when remove from choke the engine dies. is this still carburetor issue? I tried to clean with seafoam but no go.
@ThatGuyReviews2 жыл бұрын
Did you try to leave it on full choke for a few mins and then slowly dial it down?
@dennisrphymurphy7929 Жыл бұрын
NOPE... Seafoam works well on engines but not carbs. Find a tutorial on carb cleaning.... not the 3 minure cleaning, but a thourough cleaning... good luck.

When I tried to pop off the choke knob, the whole thing (the knob is still attached) popped off. Did I possibly break anything...? it does not go back in anymore.. I have to open everything tomorrow to see
@ThatGuyReviews2 жыл бұрын
Offff you might need to open it. It should be snugged
@gmarie7012 жыл бұрын
not to worry, the same thing happened to me. one of the two locking tabs at the end of that coke control shaft broke off but that just makes your job in the future easier when you need to remove the choke control knob. when reassembling, just make sure the choke butterfly valve is closed on your carburetor and then reassemble everything else per normal. then when you put the choke control lever shaft back in, just line up the pointed part of the knob to the closed choke position and push down to seat the control. mine works fine that way.
