Thank you for the video. Very useful. I removed and installed a new EGR in approximately 6h. This video was my main source of inspiration. However, to all people that plan to clean the EGR for the above engines, please note that the EGR is encapsulated and can't be properly cleaned. If you already got the 0400 error, I advise changing it directly, in order to reduce the workload. I lost a big chunk of money (and time) by trying to clean it, with no effect (the EGR valve inside is encapsulated and can't be reached). Also, the most difficult part is removing the two screws that hold the EGR from below. For an opel meriva there is physically no place pry them open. The way I did is by purchasing an additional tool: a flexible head 3/8 cricket wrench. In this way I can literally pry open screws in almost 90° angles. Without the tool, unscrewing the bolts would have been impossible (I previously tried to do it without it and was unable to budge the EGR). A flexible head ratchet (I think it was a 12 bolt) can also be used. Good luck!

Finally find out where my EGR valve lives! Bit of a job, my last car had it on top of engine with two star key bolts to undo, a ten minute job. Thanx for video, very handy.

Is there coolant on the pipe that is on the hole under the throtle hole or is there burned gasses.
@zackpenhaligon9904 Жыл бұрын
Burned gasses coming from the exhaust manifold up the the egr valve 😊

Hello! Do you know how to remove the termostat housing? Is it possible to take out without taking out the egr? Many thanks
